France are getting rid of the ball too easily.

If pulling out of an early tackle then tripping over is a yellow card, then the All Blacks should've had a yellow card and penalty try prior to Laumape's try. The French flanker retreating from the free-kicked scrum didn't get back anywhere near retreating back to his try line before tackling Kerr-Barlow.

What was the final score? Cricfee didn't work on my phone, got Kodi going but stream shat itself 2 minutes before the final whistle. At this rate I might have to start paying to watch games.

28-23 to NZ XV. Despite what I said above, the ref was decent enough until after Laumape's try. At that point the crowd and TMO started reffing the match.

So this wasn't a test then?

All Blacks 28 (Tries to Liam Squire, Matt Duffie, Patrick Tuipulotu, and Ngani Laumape; 3 conversions to Lima Sopoaga, conversion to Richie Mo'unga; yellow card to Jack Goodhue)

French XV 23 (Tries to Gabrielle Lacroix (2) and Henry Chavancy; conversion and penalty to Francois Trinh-Duc, penalty to Jules Plisson)
If they're good enough to play at World Cups, why not in between?

Adder you bitch.

Good to see some names in the ABs I don't normally wake up for during soup rugby season. I like the look of Goodhue, yellow aside. We HAVE to sort out the penalty count. A lot of that will be addressed by playing more of the game in the opposition half. The structure of attack in modern rugby is on the verge of getting too predictable in the back line. Passing behind dummy runners is now expected and defences are easily wise to it. 10 to 12 transfer is killing us.

Says Franch XV. No coverage at all on several major web sites. But World Rugby seems to present it as a test in its fixtures list. All together seems a little ambiguous, to say the least.

Then that is a test, no? Regardless of midweek media presence.

The fact that it's not France, but a French fifteen suggests this game didn't have test status. Not sure if the new boys were awarded caps.

I thought it was a test. But French XV denotes otherwise. I guess we'll have to wait till World Rugby reports on the match on its site. Were ranking points involved, for instance?

Herald suggests it wasn't a test for what that's worth....

Cheers, that appears to settle it. How bizarre that in this day and age these things still aren't 100% clear! Maybe Lizard could tell us the last time the All Blacks played a midweek test outside of World Cups...

Cheers, Cashead.

No, Morepork, but Wiki's still banned here. I can get it via proxy in a few seconds but am getting lazy in my old age...

Balls.
I've watched it as live twice now and Gardner had a fantastic game. So did Glen Jackson. Jaco not so much.
Really didn't expect that from France. 6n's is going to be very interesting.
