England to train with Georgia
Eddie is apparently lining up another scrum and lineout session for during the 6N against Georgia. Planned for one of the rest weeks. Thoughts?

I would imagine if nothing else it's exciting for the players, which isn't a bad thing. Joe Marler said the thing he regretted most about his ban was missing out on the Wales vs England training session.

Good for Georgia, too. Not that they really struggle at scrum time. If we really wanted to help, we’d run a combined backs session, too.

Nothing wrong in trying something different, or with different opposition. Cant see any major drawback in at least giving it a go.

The only issue is where and on what surface.

I would imagine there'll be little danger of having to negotiate a half-way point for this one. If it happens, I suspect Georgia would be coming to us.Oakboy wrote:The only issue is where and on what surface.

Let's hope so - nothing else makes sense. Reports from Bristol suggested that the yielding surface spoilt some of the scrum work. Maybe an artificial surface would have merit.Puja wrote:I would imagine there'll be little danger of having to negotiate a half-way point for this one. I think the issue was it was an inferior school playing field surface. All they need is a good deso-grass (I think that’s its name) to replicate Twickers. Say, oh I don’t know, Pennyhill Park.Oakboy wrote:Let's hope so - nothing else makes sense. Reports from Bristol suggested that the yielding surface spoilt some of the scrum work. Only the part where the packs pushed and then tried to move their feet. Which leaves us no doubt with some quality work on engagement in the bagOakboy wrote:Reports from Bristol suggested that the yielding surface spoilt some of the scrum work.
