Sadly I've been busy getting the house ready for guests at Christmas. Obviously left to my own wishes I'd have neither guests nor Christmas, though there is it's an excuse for a snowball or three. Guest bedrooms now ready, and all the usual paraphernalia is down from the loft, so I'm left feeling virtuous but also cross at not having simply watched the rugby with a scotch

I suspect I'm not allowed to smoke in the house so no need for a smoking jacket. Though seeing as I might smoke one cigar a year these days I can live with smoking that outside. The only slight concern is the cigar is likely to be around Christmas time and that can lead to the brandy getting a little cool
