Bath United 7 - 64 Bath Academy

TBF, Bath United didn't really resemble Bath Ruby very much, but then, I know we get criticised for not respecting the competition, and not trying hard enough to put 23 players out...
2 senior players - both of whom were playing their 2nd match of the weekend
7 academy players (mostly junior academy, U18s)

Melville must have a little smug smile on his face every time he sees a cancelled match or pointless teamsheet.

I'm beginning to think that minimum squad sizes might be a better idea

I thought Waldouck was coaching these days. It may have been out of necessity.

Good to see Saints using the A league to give their Argentininan international wingersome invaluable experience.

In fairness, there's a good sprinkling of academy lads too.

There is but I’m just frustrated that your mates boy is sat on the bench whilst Estelles gets 60 mins. I know it’s not Dingwall’s position but it’s only one step out and he could gain something from it.

Waldouck was an analyst on BT Sport earlier in the season and said he was spending the first few months of the season studying at Cambridge.

The Quins result is crazy considering the team we put out.

Squad players like Ross Chisholm and Joni Kitto were the best known In the side. The rest were pretty much all academy players with about half of them playing out of position (Charlie Piper at 6 for example).

Ibitoye looks a really lovely player. Probably a 13 rather than a wing but haven't seen enough to comment

Not a single game even close to being, well, close. So, nobody really learnt anything.

On balance a lot the Bristol side aren't Bristol players, 6 of the starting line up (Old Colstonians are Gloucester 1 league) and 4 of the bench, as the "A" side played Leinster as we've given up on the B&I cup.

Bath A vs Quins A has changed from postponed to cancelled, as they couldn't agree a new date (which seems a tad ridiculous)
Both teams get 2 points, and it's recorded as a 0-0 draw (which seems harsh on Quins as it was Bath who couldn't fulfill the fixture)

Bath receive a £10k fine, suspended until the end of the season; and are apparently joining a decent sized club with that
