Have wasps completely cut ties with their southern counties or is it a caseof them playing in a northern conference with southern players?

He did a few years ago, with Grewcock coming in, and a concentrating of the talent. Then MFord and Danny had their... disagreement, and Mike didn't see the need for an academy and stopped the funding.
The talent there has mostly been promoted already, though we've a few promising youngsters; but they're not ready yet. I don't know Todd's view on the academy.
Either way, with a concentration of talent, followed by underfunding, it would never bode well for putting together an academy team, as their won't be the numbers without dipping further down the age spectrum. Add in a lack of continuity and some unconvincing coaching and yeah, I'd expect us to be pretty shit in an academy competition.
