Leicester Tigers v Castres
Leicester Tigers (v Castres, away, Sunday 6.30pm local time/5.30pm UK time)
15 George Worth
14 Tom Brady
13 Matt Smith
12 Charlie Thacker
11 Adam Thompstone
10 Joe Ford
9 Sam Harrison
1 Greg Bateman (c)
2 Harry Thacker
3 Pat Cilliers
4 Harry Wells
5 Mike Fitzgerald
6 Dominic Ryan
7 Will Evans
8 Valentino Mapapalangi
Replacements
16 Tatafu Polota-Nau
17 Michele Rizzo
18 Ben Betts
19 Joe Maksymiw
20 Brendon O’Connor
21 Harry Simmons
22 Mathew Tait
23 Nick Malouf
Well it's different, hoping for big showings by the young lads like Evans, Wells, Betts, Maksymiw Simmons, C.Thacker and Worth becuase if they perform against a in form french side away then it gives them a very big chance of making the prem side esp the forward players.

Expected a much changed side but this is quite ballsy. Very much a 2nd XV look about the side, despite having a number of good players in it.

The Castres team's not been announced yet, but they'll probably rest some regular players as Tigers have.
Looking forward to going to the game!

I had actually entirely forgotten that we had Dominic Ryan on our books!
That is basically the back row that I'd like our first team to have, but I suspect it's going to get destroyed due to being surrounded by the second string, and then never tried again.

Re: Leicester Tigers v Castres
Castres cannot go through either so they will probably play a reduced strength side.
Nothing against Tigers resting so many. Its a bit of a gamble and could potentially backfire, but giving young/fringe players a chance isnt the worst thing to do. Its not as if the "1st XV" have been tearing it up.
Irrespective of the result, MOC should give most of this team another run out next week at home.

I feel sorry for the poor sods who are staying at home! Castres, like Tigers, have selected players who aren't necessarily first choice, and we could be in for a good game - win or lose!Tigersman wrote:Feel more sorry for the supporters going.Puja wrote:That side is going to get munched. Poor sods.

Tigers would be looking alright if they didn't have J.Ford and Brady starting IMO.

J Ford isn’t a reserve FH for a good Prem club, especially when your first choice will definately be away with England.

Personally i'm hoping Toomua or Tom Hardwick will be playing instead at 10.Mellsblue wrote:J Ford isn’t a reserve FH for a good Prem club, especially when your first choice will definately be away with England.
Toomua, Tait/Smith, Manu.
