Well Piutau is a class act, but WLR was much more influential if only 'cause of his forwards. Both are brilliant players I'd happily pay to watch
Wasps flanker Jack Willis has impressed every time I've seen him play. Big, powerful and smart. Just turned 20 and not yet a nailed on Wasps starter. Wonder if he's on Eddie's radar. If Mercer is in the "apprentice" category, then why not this lad. England seems to be crawling with promising young backrowers at present.
Good performance by Wasps. Played some excellent stuff in very difficult conditions. Cruse is a very handy 3rd choice hooker and i'm liking Willis a lot.
Real pity they blew it last week against Quins.
Wasps show they can actually defend. About three games too late, mind, but it's good to see.
A case of what could have been. Possibly could gave had a home QF but jnstead will be spectators for the rest of the comp. Hope this disappointment motivates them and sets them up well for the rest of the Prem campaign.

they will at least be able to rest up a bit, compared to Sarries .

Willis and JCW help a lot, since they get in at the breakdown. On top of that, having JdJ at 13, instead of Macken, is quite a huge difference.

I'm absolutely loving Willis' work this year. He looks to me like he's gonna be the player Hask should've been. His intelligence at the breakdown is a joy to behold. I thought Garces should've awarded him an extra couple of turnover pens in that match, but the breakdown was a wild west shootout and at least he was consistently lenient. He absolutely loves to get stuck in but knows exactly when to go for a turnover and when not to. He also understands the value of counter rucking which is something that a lot of Wasps forwards are baffled by. Big big future for this lad.
Just looking at the numbers, I've just realised that, had Leicester kicked the injury-time penalty that they were awarded and not ludicrously decided to scrum and go for the try, that would've meant that Wasps would've qualified ahead of Racing. Sorry Wasps!
Mind, they'd've only got an away quarter final at Leinster and Saracens would've got to go to Clermont again, so maybe it was all for the best.

One wonders if a message to that effect should have gone out onto the pitch, might have been in Tigers favour to see Wasps aiming for a 2nd target

It was ludicrous going for a scrum rather than the lineout, if they wanted a try. Not sure who was skipper at that point.
