Watched the YC vs Bedford game yesterday and Sinfield's MOM performance at 10. Talk about a duck to water kinel!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Woodward wanted him pre 2003. Shame he didn't get him at his peak (same as Andy Farrell), I think both of them would have made world class 12s.

Presumably you're talking about the version of Farrell that didn't actually make the switch when the real one did?

May be its finally clicked. He's said himself that he's been struggling. To be honest, it must be a huge drop in quality for him - Bedford are part time after all. Going from the top of League to a comp with a large number of part timers shouldn't be too difficult.

It sounds like Leeds ran riot in the last 30 mins. A silver lining to me buggering up my back in the gym on thurs and therefore not being able to attend the match.

Yeah. The Farrell I saw playing union was not the Farrell I spent 10 years watching play for Wigan and GB. That Farrell would've torn it up.

Yes obviously a drop in quality but lets not take to much away from him or the teams, at times teams played some very fine rugby and it was a cracking second half. Oh and agree about Faz at Wigan.

Don't. I was gutted that I couldn't go. Now that I live in N Yorks I rarely get to see Bedford. That I now know it was a good match - Bedford are a great team to watch when they click - makes it even worse, even if we did lose.

We are away to Doncaster next month and I'm hoping we can claw our way back to third so we will be in Yorkshire for the play-offs. So, I'm consoling myself I will get at least one more opportunity to watch them this season.

Interesting Championship this year - Bristol, Doncaster, Leeds and Bedford look to have play-offs sewn up, but not sure in which order yet, except for Briz on top.

If Bristol choke again, does anyone know if Doncaster or Bedford will neet the MSC? Doncaster looked to have the basis of a pretty decent stadium from watching them this weekend, and I'm sure they could find a way to put up a temporary stand to get the capacity up to the 10k required.

I think that the order will stay as is. As you say, Briz are miles ahead and Doncaster have a decent lead over Leeds who have to go away to LW and Jersey, who themselves are 6th & 5th in the table. Bedford have Pirates at home but then Doncaster away - can't remember the last time we beat them away - and Bristol at home. Bristol will be doubly motivated due to the fact we beat them at their place at the start of the season and they will want to lay a marker down prior to probably playing us in the playoffs. Three matches in a row against them could get ugly as we are on a downward trajectory after a great start to the calendar year. Jersey may sneak in as they have Ealing and Rotherham - second and third bottom - before Leeds on the final day. We have to beat Pirates this weekend which I think we will. It could be an interesting final day.

Bedford have no chance of meeting MSC - 2000ish seater stand with 1920s toilets (approx 10) and wooden benches for seating, changing rooms in an ancient timber building and outside toilets serving the bar - there's a 99.99% chance it's a moot point due to probably having Briz in the semis. Doncaster's stadium is a nice set-up. I'd have thought they could easily comply - loads of room for the new stand. Jersey have a setup somewhere between Bedford and Doncaster, I believe, but the money to put something in place if needs be.

I hope Bristol go up this year. They've topped the league since about the battle of Hastings and certainly won't be cannon fodder. It also means my local(ish) chances to watch Bedford remain.

I have seen him play league, though so little nothing springs to mind. I haven't seen him play rugby, and I can't actually recall the last time I saw Leeds play. Hopefully he has drawn in some future fans for Leeds.
