I can’t say I’m a huge fan of needlessly riling the opposition ... it is, as you say, ‘classless’. However, I don’t actually think Eddie’s said anything that contentious.
Patchell is Wales third choice behind Biggar and Priestland and Eddie is pretty much saying what we all thought when he suggested that we will look to target him due to his inexperience in a game of this magnitude.
It just didn't need to be done as a public conversation. We keep schtum and send CGS on a seek-and-destroy mission early on and he's distracted and bruised from unexpected pressure. Talking about how we're going to target him and how we think he's weak gives him the huild up to psych himself up to prove those arrogant English wrong.
It just seems like a poor move - the best disruption tactics are a surprise, not back page headlines in Wales.

Seems the sort of player who would like an oppo player charging out the line to try and monster him. Many of my favourite rugby moments were taking big hits and then showing the foaming at the mouth mongoloid who tackled you exactly how far down the pitch you now were/where the try was scored after sending a runner through the hole he left.
I think Jones rates him but wants to play on his inexperience and what will be very understandable nerves. There's also the very real possibility that it's not a tactic in the slightest and old Edward is playing his usual mind games.

Meh,...feck off.
Humour me ... what is so offensive?
It’s not like he brought Jonny Sexton’s parents into it.

I think you are being needlessly riled. Or Kk is on the lash earlier than normal

I dont think Eddie is interested in targeting Patchell physically, at least no more than any other opposition flyhalf. I think he just wants all the focus and build up to be about him and to get him out of his normal ‘head space’.
And, well, classless or not, here we all are discussing Patchell.

I have no issue with it, it's no different to Gatland commenting upon players scrummaging techniques really is it? I suppose we'll see if Patch has the big game temperament (I hope so as Anscombe doesn't convince at International level).

Exactly, he always does something to distract from the real issues, and deflect any pressure on players to himself.

Where did you find that photo?!?!? In my defence, I did tell the club president not to let Versace design our kit.

I'm sure I remember seeing Patchell and Scarlets Wales play in the rain before at some stage this season....
No shit I just prefer dry conditions, rugby is generally better as a spectator.
I still say the best game of rugby I've seen live was bloodgate. Which ended 5-6, but was so intense. And terrible weather. Mike Brown was excellent that day.
