Re: Exeter vs Saracens
sarries bog lineout, hepburn throws mad pass but rescued by Slade. Mad passage of mistakes. 40 seconds left, must be a chiefs win, and no bp for sarries.
Simmonds x 2, Hepburn, LCD and Slade showed well; Isiekwe and Kruis worked hard, Spencer and Loz pretty anonymous to average- bit harsh on Loz, as Sarries dont get the ball to 10 much at the mo.
In fairness, Sarries have a lot of class missing.

Glad chiefs ground it out. Quite sloppy at times from both teams overall with a bit of quality as well. Simmonds jnr gets motm on his debut, well done son.

Exe will be pleased to get over the line and deny Saracens a BP. They were worthy winners but i wasnt sure about the penalty try.
For me, LCD was the standout player for an hour. Some classy touches from Slade.

I watch exe a lot and he pretty much always is. I think people assume he is just a highlight reel carrier but he works constantly.fivepointer wrote:E

LCD is currently the best hooker in the Premiership. How he has been overlooked by England is utterly beyond me. In the loose he is twice the player Hartley and George are. And his l/o throwing isnt the liability it once may have been.

Re: Exeter vs Saracens
He's in the bigger squad IIRC, and this is the first good stretch of games.....but he should be a strong contender for the match day squad now, given he offers carrying and good floor work. His lineout stats are apparently the best in the AP, which I'm surprised at.fivepointer wrote:LCD is currently the best hooker in the Premiership. Sinckler, LCD and Genge would be a fairly impactful bench front row for England. Just have to avoid too much set piece though.
The more I watch Lozowski the more I think he’s not really a 10. His best attribute is his surprising turn of pace and ability to drift outside defenders. He picks some great lines, but he doesn’t really get that opportunity at 10. I’d like to see him get a run at 15.

He's not authoritative 10 on last couple of outings, but Sarries a- dont use the 10 as much as other sides..box kick city, and b- didnt have a lot of ball today. I think he's a better 12, and agree has looked good at 15, but can't see how he will get any significant game time there- even if Goode is crocked, Liam Williams is next in line. Its always a worry as well when backs start being shunted around positions.Timbo wrote:Sinckler, LCD and Genge would be a fairly impactful bench front row for England. Well Goode was utter poo today, and has been pretty mediocre all season. Lozowski wouldn’t be any worse.
Hard to see Sarries getting past Leinster in Europe, even with players back, cos I expect Leinster to absolutely muller them in the scrum.

Re: Exeter vs Saracens
Fair point on Goode today, not at his best; I'm not especially a fan, but he's been essential to Sarries game plan for years, his positional play is so good; I think saying Loz couldn't be any worse is hyperbole, and in any case, Liam Williams would be next in line. Realistically, bar injuries, can you see Loz getting game time.Timbo wrote:Well Goode was utter poo today, and has been pretty mediocre all season. Lozowski wouldn’t be any worse.

You are right on the scrum, despite Vunipola, George and Itoje retur......hmm...probably.

Been saying the same about loz for a while now. Think 12 is probably his best position. Bit shaky at 15 with his kicks. Could have been a handy 13 i reckon.

To be fair, I have been saying for quite sometime we should start Loz at 12

I know, but its very like KK's hero worship of quality Joe. Who we all agree is great, bar Gats.p/d wrote:To be fair, I have been saying for quite sometime we should start Loz at 12
Does this sound familiar, esp about 12's, but Loz needs to find his one position and stick to it.

KK’s love for Joe, Diggers love for Cips, Oakboys love for Manu, Puja’s admiration of the 3 year residency rule ....these are the foundations the board is built on

Bored at work and catching up on this. Slade combines as well with Simmonds jnr. as he does with snr. I wonder if he is a realistic challenger to Te'o's spot.

Also it's not really a love for Cips, it's more disdain for the dross being served up since 2004 and the mild annoyance we on purpose have watched such dross whilst ignoring players like Armitage and Cipriani. I don't know if anyone wants to claim that the last 20 Vs Scotland looked better for having Wrigglesworth and Farrell at halfback than Robson and Cipriani with 30 extra caps each, but to not even have a look and then watch a team stagnating is odd.Banquo wrote:I'll lob in my JJ and Conrad hero worshipp/d wrote:KK’s love for Joe, Diggers love for Cips, Oakboys love for Manu, Puja’s admiration of the 3 year residency rule ....these are the foundations the board is built onand Convex's champion of the underdog and celebrity lifestyle. You're very fickle on Phil.
