I have never seen a worse quality picture. I think FijiOne could use some new broadcast kit.
Piss poor crowd in Suva, too. I presume more will show up for the 2nd leg of the double-header, Fiji v Georgia. A Georgia win will see them in the top 10 for the first time.
17 - 6 to Tonga at half time. I’ll miss the rest while playing my club game today.

Well done
Have you read Ben Ryan’s book Seven Heaven. Really interesting insight into Fiji, more so for a Brit who knows less about then I guess

Yep. Presidents’ Grade though (35+ technically but the odd ringer is usually there to make up numbers)

Re: Samoa v Tonga
So we've got someone on the playing end, and another on the management end (I've been coaching/managing at my school. Got the 2nd XV into the Baywide finals last year - got trounced by the Tauranga Boys College Vth XV though - and I've taken on the U-14s this year. They're shit. Disciplinary issues has meant that we've forfeited this weekend's fixture because the other coach and I are standing down about 4 players. It means it saved me a trip to Te Puke today. The last two games I've been involved in against Te Puke High has resulted in a brawl after the game as well, so it's probably for the best, to be honest).Lizard wrote:Yep. Being on the managing end does give perspective on player selections, and the U14 head coach and I have been very stats-driven, keeping stats on each players like tries prevented, tackles attempted/successful/missed, setpiece success, fumbles by the no. 8, mistimed lineout lifts, crooked throws, penalties conceded and types of penalties conceded. That sort of thing. We're fucking ruthless.

Is Vuna's the first international XVs try by a nation-convert using the 7s loophole?
Out of interest, he also played for 2 nations in league back in the day, so that's 3 countries he's represented internationally.

Surely Tim Nanai-Williams has a try or two for Samoa. He represented NZ in 7s, but with the glut of talent at wing and fullback, he jumped at the chance to switch over to Samoa via 7s, and hasn't looked back since.Which Tyler wrote:Is Vuna's the first international XVs try by a nation-convert using the 7s loophole?

I'm not sure I ever knew that he'd been tied to NZ previously
