Re: Premiership Squads 2018/19
It’s interesting to see the squads laid out like this. There’s a few teams that surely need to do some business before the season starts to avoid being very light in some positions.
For example, I know Ewers, Armand and (very occasionally) Kvesic can deputise at 8, but for Exeter to go in to the season without a replacement for Waldrom would be unnecessarily risk IMO. They also have a kid in the academy, Rus Tuima, who is highly rated, but considering they’ll expect to challenge for silverware domestically and in Europe, that’s not going to cut it. I would have thought they’d have gone for someone like Vermeulen or even gone back in for Morgan.
Similarly, what’s Northampton’s plan at 8? Harrison, Brussow and Haskell can all do a job there but having Eadie as the only specialist 8 isn’t amazing.
As a Quins fan, I can hardly criticise, but I do find it strange that some clubs splash the cash on players for positions they’re already well stocked in and apparently ignore areas of obvious weakness/lack of depth.

Harrison has only ever been useful at 8 hasn’t he? Certainly seems a more logical move than the Hask.

8 allows him to show off his carrying more, but he's not a bad 7.

Of course, wiki keeps track of all actual announcements on a dedicated page as well - for about a decadeMellsblue wrote:Ha. A thankless task. Who was it who kept s soreadsheet on all in and outs and posted then on here during pre-season.Which Tyler wrote:And already I need to add Ashton to Sale...

Re: Premiership Squads 2018/19
Okay - let's see if I can put this all together for each team; presented in the same way for easy-reading...
Bear in mind that this is courtesy of wiki for teams as they stand (not necessarily up to date) with wiki's opinion on position of academy status - it will be wrong.
Where given, I've put the pecking order as provided on here already; otherwise, it's my interpretation - which will be wrong, especially for teams I don't really follow.
Please let me know if you spot anything I've got obviously wrong

Which here is Worcesters senior academy.
Prop Kai Owen and Wales under 18s pair Luke Scully and Callum Morris who play at fly-half and scrum-half respectively have joined Worcester.
Highly-rated centre Ollie Lawrence, who trained with England’s senior squad in May, back rower Tom Fawcett and wing Alex Bartley will step up from Warriors’ under 18s.
Worcester have also retained centre Will Butler, hooker Beck Cutting, full-back Nick David, back rowers Tom Dodd and Ted Hill, wing Alex Hearle, locks Andrew Kitchener and James Scott, loosehead prop Nick Rigby and tighthead prop Joe Morris.

Re: Premiership Squads 2018/19
There's gonna be a lot of academy updates over the next couple of months, they won't all be sorted until September; I've tried to I course those who seem realistic (to me) of getting game-time - assuming they're retained.

Realistic =/= guaranteed.Tigersman wrote:Is Waters kinda guaranteed game time?
Waters is one injury during an international period away from benching

Website has been updated with this year's academy squad 20 in total:-Gloskarlos wrote:For Glaws:-
39 players in the senior squad
Props: Fraser Balmain, Ruan Dreyer, Gareth Denman, Josh Hohneck, Paddy Mcallister, Val RR
Hookers: Franco Marais, Todd Gleave, James Hanson
Second Row: Ed Slater, Mariano Galarza, Gerbrandt Grobler, Franco Mostert, Tom Savage
Back Row: Ruan Ackermann, Freddie Clarke, Gareth Evans, Jaco Kriel, Ben Morgan, Lewis Ludlow, Jake Polledri, Will Safe
Scrum Half: Ben Vellacott, Calum Braley, Willi Heinz

Centres: Mark Atkinson, Billy Twelvetrees, Tom Hudson, Henry Trinder
Wings: Matt Banahan, Charlie Sharples, Ollie Thorley, Henry Purdy
Full Backs: Jason Woodward, Tom Marshall
17 Academy players, (8 of which have had first XV action) but this has not been updated recently so there could be a couple more
Senior squad 27/39 EQP - 69%
Academy 17/17 EQP - 100%
Overall EQP = 79%
I think we are looking a little light at Full back/Wing, on the Glos website Tom Marshall is listed as a centre
Props - Ollie Adkins, Jack Bartlett, Ciaran Knight, Alex Seville,
Hookers - Henry Walker, Joe Mullis
Locks - Callum Allen, Harry Butler, Alex Craig
Back Row - Aaron Hinckley, Cameron Terry
SH - Ewan Fenley, Charlie Chapman
FH - Dom Coetzer
Centres - Jack Reeves, Tom Stanton, Tom Seabrook
Wing - Jacob Morris, Alex Morgan
FB - Reece Dunn
All EQP as far as I am aware - Bold players have had 1 or more first XV appearances.
Which makes the total Glos stats look like this:-
Senior squad 27/39 EQP - 69%
Academy 20/20 EQP - 100%
Overall EQP = 80%
