What a farce. I think the problems start higher up, though. Always look for root cause.

Jebus!
After one match?
I know it was a bad one, but f he was good enough to keep beyond May, then he's good enough to give a couple of months before judging.

It wasn't just one game TBF.

Not wanting to go to much into it in public BUT that 1 game performance was the final straw.

If he was in that much trouble, then should have got rid 3 months ago.
Unless there's a non-rugby reason of course

The timing is odd to say the least. I daresay there's been a bit going on pre season.

I'll find out more details either tonight or tomorrow, but as said i don't want to fully go into it just yet without getting it double confirmed.

Supposedly, plenty of arguments in pre-season. From what I’ve heard - all very much tenth hand - this might be because of a player revolt. Allegedly.

Will say from what I gather the players where fine with him, now Exeter game might have changed some people's minds, but during pre-season it wasn't the players with fault against MOC.

Bloody hell. I can't exactly say I'm disappointed - I was never in favour of hiring him in the first place, both for his previous attitude problems and his lacklustre record after leaving Leicester, and the performances have hardly been inspiring across his tenure - but the timing is ridiculous. If he wasn't bad enough to get rid of over the summer, he's not bad enough to get rid of after one game, no matter how awful it was.

Seconded.

Not sure about Murphy taking over. He's been a consistent theme across several failed regimes and as backs coach, he's surely in charge of the sow's ear that's been made out of a Youngs, Ford, May, Toomua, Manu backline. I've yet to see any evidence that he's the solution rather than part of the problem.

Ah, ok. As I said, my info is very much tenth hand. Chinese whispers obviously kept the pre-season arguments but changed who they were between.

My 2 cents on what MIGHT have happened.

Sale game gave MOC some more time, Board wanted changes done in Pre-season, Pre-season for Tigers wasn't great, Tigers get hammered first game looking unfit and clueless, Board prob thought to themselves WTF have you done all pre-season..... blah blah blah

Board need shooting in the first place for having a "worldwide search for a leading coach" and coming up with our former assistant who left to go be unwhelming elsewhere. After hiring and then firing, they've got to fall on their swords, especially after choosing this timing to do it.

You have to put some effort in to ruin a Youngs, Ford, May, Toomua/Eastmond, Tuilagi, ?, Veianu backline.

Right now no one.
I suspect Tigers might be looking at the post world cup market.

Murphy deserves his chance now, at we should know by at least March if he is up for the big job so the RWC coaches will still be on the market potentially.

All of Tigers biggest successful coaches had no previous head coaching experiance hopefully that might happen again.
