“Game changers”

Ugh.

---

Also, it'll be interesting to see if Quins actually make use of the players on the field this season, or if they are awful regardless of who they have…

So much to quip about there. From Quins having the awful decision to call their subs "Game Changers", to there being both Currys and Dino Lamb (formerly Lamb-Kona) in the same match, to Sale fielding a second set of brothers in James James Morrison Morrison Weatherby George Dupree.

Yeah the game changers is almost as bad as finishers. Can we just call them replacements?

Can Nathan Earle consistently deliver? Quins have a decent backline. Pleased to see Lamb getting a start.

I do like that Sale back row.

I really hope Quins are winning, and they bring on their Game Changers and get absolutely tonked!

Quins vs Sale

Based on those two squads, looks like it could be a good game.

Sale are going to really miss Faf at SH, and Luke James in the centre is a potential weak spot. Scrum looks solid though. Love both the Curry’s playing and Ross there.

Sale away form is terrible though, so tough to see us getting an away win here....

I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this already.

He played very well in the pre-season game I saw against Ealing in fairly terrible conditions.

I’m hope that being first choice for a full season will mean we see what he’s capable of.

Yep - agree with that.

Slightly concerned about Lamb being undercooked to play at 5 in the Premiership (see what I did there?), but I do think he had potential so it could pay off.

Shame Walker isn’t fit but good to see James Chisholm on the bench.

Wow! I didn’t see that coming. I’m on holiday so I’ve only just seen the result, but I never in my wildest dreams imagined us scoring 50+ points!!!!

Yarde's try was an absolute gem.
Smith scored off a forward pass from Care so blatant he should been embarrassed to touch down.

Aye. Looked on first glance like he just threw it at the gap behind the defender. But fuck it, I'll get over it.

The Sunday Times has Brown playing wing with Morris at 15. Would someone please tell me this was a ridiculous error?

Well you can see Morris wearing 15 on the highlights. Not really sure how to digest this.

Nope, Mikey is apparently now a winger...

To be fair, he's probably a better winger than Alofa or Visser...

Ah balls. I was hoping some idiot - re most of the ST rugby dept - has cocked up and the team sheet at the top of this thread was correct. Let’s hope it’s a short term measure rather than an E Jones inspired cunning plan.

It has to be EJ. Nothing else makes sense. Gustard doing him a favour perhaps? Trying to make it look less like the switcheroo in SA was a totally pointless move?

When Lancaster was doing it with Robshaw at 7 we started to just ignore the shirt numbers and play Wallace there wearing 6, hopefully we will do the same here. I see Walker got a game at fullback for the A side so we can call him a 15 now if it makes Eddie happy.

Why thank you.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the result/quality of the performance after a poor preseason.

Northampton away is hard to call but with Boyd still finding his feet, I think we have a chance to win away from home. Obviously Gustard is just as new, but he does have definite advantages in terms of knowing the Premiership and a lot of the players.

I’d also be targeting a home win against Bath. They looked pretty poor against Bristol and if we can replicate what we showed against Sale, I’d be pretty confident.

3 wins against key rivals would be the dream start but I’m taking each game as it comes.

Did Bothma make it through a game without breaking his arm again?
