Re: Gloucester vs Harlequins
Great to see Horwill and Brown back and I’m excited to see Kunatani off the bench.
I must admit I’m surprised to see Ludlow back for Gloucester after being knocked out against Saracens. Hudson was good when he came on so as annoyed as I am about Woodward being benched from a Fantasy Rugby point of view, he probably did enough to warrant a shot at home against a struggling Quins side.

We're pretty much just banking on Horwill lifting the side well above what we've been in previous weeks.
I'm hoping a few weeks in the B team has given Visser a bit of a kick? He's still dangerous on his day.

I've never been a fan of Visser in defense... But I don't understand Charlie Walker. He's exactly the kind of player we should be picking. Him and Ibitoye. Which I don't like. They may have some faults in defense but they bring others into attack as well as themselves. I just feel like with Visser and Earle on the wings we're a bit one dimensional...Mikey Brown wrote:We're pretty much just banking on Horwill lifting the side well above what we've been in previous weeks.

As much as I agree, I can see Gustard having serious doubts about him. 5 tries down the right hand side won't have done him much good.
I also agree that Visser is a total mong in defence.

Look, mate. Sometimes I just sort of say stuff, alright? I don't know what wing he played on. I'm not even totally sure if he played last week? I'm not sure how many tries we conceded either. It's not my job. What you going to do about it?
I feel like I was basing it on something when I said it. But god knows what. My job is catch the ball and get angry.

He didn't play last week and played on the right against Saints, where we conceded once to a forward drive.

Re: Gloucester vs Harlequins
Walker is no worse in defence than Visser and is much better at creating something from nothing.
TBH, I don’t know why we don’t give Ibitoye a proper go. He was ripping it up for the U20s and is doing the same in the Premiership Shield. He’s raw but I doubt he’d be any more of a defensive liability than Visser and he has the ability to be something special.

I've just never seen Earle play that well. He ticks all the athletic boxes but can't seem to put it together.
Quin's have done better than I thought they would at the start of the season, but I'm not convinced Gustard will work out.

Quins are away so they will lose. Glos need to get back in stride after last weeks hammering and are far better at home.
Whats the news on Jack Clifford? He hasnt played for quite a while now.

What Care just did reminded me of Botica mess up.
Might have lost them the game.

Who saw this coming. Other than Sarries and Exe, anyone can beat anyone.

100% agree. The Premiership gets some criticism but it’s super competitive and no one can say it’s predicatable.
Delighted with the result. Hopefully we can pull our annual win against Saracens out of the bag next Saturday.

Surprise of the season so far. I didnt see this result at all.
Great result for Quins, which should give them a major shot in the arm.

Agreed - shame we have Saracens next week.
Having said that, it’s at home and history shows that we find an extra gear against Sarries at the stoop. Gustard will really want to continue that.
An away win at Kingsholm followed by beating Sarries would be an excellent couple of weeks. I can but dream.

We gutsed it out very well yesterday. Pack was effective, and made some hard yards. Boyce and Collier’s scrummaging in the last few minutes was superb too. Really enjoyable trip to the Shed!

How did Lang go? Of course this is the game I didn’t bother watching.

Having Boyce back is a big boost. Lambert has been a great club servant but I think Boyce has more to add.
It’s early days but Crumpton looks to be adding the lineout accuracy we’ve needed for what feels like forever and I’m hoping Kunatani can add dynamism from the bench.

Not Lang’s finest game. Struggled in defence. To me, it felt like Gloucester should have been running Banahan down the channel between Lang and Tapuai, as there seemed a weakness there.
Boyce is off to Leicester, I believe? Too good to be second choice but a shame for us.
Visser was fairly dreadful.
Really enjoyed Kunatani off the bench, slightly different and will have fun against tired defences. Crumpton adds a reliability that we needed. Still wouldn’t say he’s first choice for a top 6 side, we need to strengthen there

Not sure how much truth there is with the Boyce to Tigers rumour. He’s second or third choice behind Marler at Quins and would be second choice to Genge at Tigers. I’m not sure he’d be improving his situation by moving?

Re: Gloucester vs Harlequins
Just watched the extended highlights. That scrum was a sight to behold!
A couple of quick shout outs to Gloucester players - I thought both Atkinson and Hudson were among the better players at Sarries last week and they looked good again based upon the highlights. Hudson reminds me a bit of a younger, faster Mike Brown. He seems to be able to make yards he’s not entitled to and has a cheeky offload in his locker. He’s not really on the radar, but could be one to watch given the relative lack of fullbacks coming through.
