Not as embarrassed as those that failed to give him the ball. Playing outside Reinach must be horribly dispiritingMikey Brown wrote:Do we think Biggar is embarrassed in the video sessions when they show him crying and flailing his arms around and leaping about like a little child?

If he isn't about that, then he should be about his pay packet when they see how little he offers the team.Mikey Brown wrote:Do we think Biggar is embarrassed in the video sessions when they show him crying and flailing his arms around and leaping about like a little child?

No ambition from either side, barely passed to their respective strike runners, even the picks are ponderous, there was one pick play from Hartley done at pace and that wasn't supportedtwitchy wrote:Digby wrote:Neither side has any intent to put pace on the game, it's pathetic if sadly all too English

On days like this it's embarrassing when one knows what kiwi sides would make of it

Awful, awful game. But whoever mentioned Eastmond in defence (I didn't see the first half) I have to agree.

Saints turning down kicks should see Biggar and Hartley getting a kicking

He did. 3 dominant scrums. Good stuff.Tigersman wrote:Heyes put in a massive cameo
The game was messy and error filled. Saints lost out tactically and failed to convert goal line pressure into points. Some criticism of Biggar which i think is fair enough. He and Reinach dont do much to galvanise the attack.
Thought both Fb's did well and Ribbans was easily the best forward on the pitch.

I’ve seen many horrendous New Zealand derbys in shit weather.Digby wrote:No ambition from either side, barely passed to their respective strike runners, even the picks are ponderous, there was one pick play from Hartley done at pace and that wasn't supportedtwitchy wrote:Digby wrote:Neither side has any intent to put pace on the game, it's pathetic if sadly all too English

Eastmond could well put his hand up for England if he can stay fit and keep up defending like that. (doubt it but was very very good)

For sure, but there's far more often an intent to play. Today was pure and simple a waste of timeTimbo wrote:I’ve seen many horrendous New Zealand derbys in shit weather.Digby wrote:No ambition from either side, barely passed to their respective strike runners, even the picks are ponderous, there was one pick play from Hartley done at pace and that wasn't supportedtwitchy wrote:

From watching it live, I feel like the majority of Tigers points came from them pouncing on largely unforced errors from Saints. Very uninteresting game to spectate. I'll watch the recording in the morning and see if my.opinion changes

I wouldn't waste your time, if I were you. Very dull game and you've nailed the essence of it in your first sentencd.Adam_P wrote:From watching it live, I feel like the majority of Tigers points came from them pouncing on largely unforced errors from Saints. I cannot believe Leicester kept taking lineouts to mauls. Yes, Northampton were swinging round offside every single time and Doyle did nothing to stop them, but that's a problem you need to play. It was happening every single time, so why did we *keep* doing it?!

I find it very depressing how far both these clubs have slipped over the last 4ish seasons. The premiership is better with a strong showing from both east mids clubs, unfortunately nether look like providing anything of real quality for at least this season.

Um.
I’m fairly hopeful about the future of Tigers on the whole would still sack Cohen and Glynn but I’m happy with the coaching team as a whole and the players that are starting to get game time/being trusted.
If Tigers want more short term gain we need to invest in Some positions.
But considering we have a new coaching team it isn’t that bad.

Actually, to look on the bright side, I was pleasantly surprised to see our defence showing some spine today. Granted, Northampton were hardly the All Blacks, but we at least kept concentrating and made our tackles (Denton aside, who is putting in a run for the Schuster award).
And speaking of bottle, anyone else think Mallinder might have found his. Didn't show a single incident of yellow streak today and slid in to take a ground ball under the feet of a charging Manu, which I think he would've evaded last year. Boyd still needs to have a word with him though about talking to linesmen and referees like that, and that word needs to be DON'T.

I thought Tigers might be exactly what Denton needed (and vice versa) but he’s just looked totally lost.
