Well, it's better than a team being very offensive, like Quins last season...Mikey Brown wrote:Aside from that obviously not being the point I was making, the Scotland attack is generally quite fun to watch. I’d call them quite attack-oriented, I don’t think I’d call them attacking.
Just like I wouldn’t describe a team as “very defending”.

Champions Cup debut against Leinster at the RDS. I couldn’t be happier for Booj.

Actually quite like the ref cracking down early on closing at the line out and hookers moving around.
That is so long as the players react accordingly and it isn't every bloody one.

Dallaglio somehow not twigging to the fact that Daly got exactly what he wanted by bouncing that out off the Leinster player.

Got to ask the question about the ref being able to pick up Bassett's deliberate knock on from the video replay but not Cronin clearly picking the ball up from behind himself for the try.
Obviously don't want to point out one was denying the home team a try and the other was awarding them a penalty but....

Am I seeing something wrong or is Shields the worst back rower on the pitch by miles? How the hell does he get into the England squad?

Thought the Cronin ‘try’ was a really obvious penalty to Wasps at the time. Beyond me why having a foot in front of the ball wouldn’t be something you’d immediately think of to check.
And Sopoaga shouldn’t have been a yellow either, Cronin threw that pass a mile forwards.
But other than that...

He’s been fantastic around the breakdown and tackle area. Slowed so much Leinster ball down.

Cronin try I can let go. Lima's yellow is plain wrong, should have been a scrum wasps.

Given the defensive effort Wasps are putting in, seems a bit odd to be getting into a guy who's tackling himself to a stand still.Timbo wrote:You’re seeing something wrong. Tommy Taylor looking like he's starting to get back to his pre-injury levels around the pitch too.

We'll have to agree to differ, I think. Carr and Young have been massively more effective in my eyes in the areas you mention. They have both completed tackles, for example, and got their hands on the ball. I'd bring Johnson on for Shields at HT.Timbo wrote:You’re seeing something wrong. I only see what's in shot and may be wrong. Shields just seems to be a yard off everything. He's getting in the way sometimes and that's about it.16th man wrote:Given the defensive effort Wasps are putting in, seems a bit odd to be getting into a guy who's tackling himself to a stand still.Timbo wrote:You’re seeing something wrong. Great try. Simple but very effective first phase strike move*.
Mikey Brown will hate that phrase.

Poitre really not covering himself in glory here. That scrum wasn't going anywhere for far too long, really should have been telling Leinster to use it.

Leinster didn't score there, but was there not a massive knock on from Leinster to get the turn over?
Lots if Wasps players looking pretty piss poor. Just doesn't seem to be any belief

High shot on De Jongh there.
Edit: Leinster have played bloody well, and Wasps look like a side who've been disrupted by injury and other factors, but Poitre has gone fairly homer and killed this as any sort of contest.

It's an IRB directive so it shouldn't just be the prem.Peej wrote:In the Prem the TMO would be all over that16th man wrote:High shot on De Jongh there.

On this evidence Ireland vs the All Blacks could be an absolute classic.Oakboy wrote:Talk about being outclassed! Leinster are just magnificent.
