I might have missed it, but I haven’t seen this posted anywhere ... qualifies through a grandparent and had apparently on their watch list for a couple of years.
I like Holmes. I don’t imagine he would have been in the England mix, but still a shame to lose him to Wales.
I also very much doubt this will attract as much of a furore as Brad Shields’ selection despite him having two English parents.

Apparently he’s got the quickest 100m time of any player in the Prem. Andy Goode reckons that when he was at Wasps he could beat Wade over any distance.
Nowhere near England, but I expect Tigers will be a bit annoyed. Expect he’ll be heading off to a region when his contract is up.

I thought he was superb at FB in the pouring rain against whoever it was a couple of matches ago. Another 12/18 months in the top flight and he could be a cracking player.

He may not get capped, but Wales do tend to makes sure they capture as many players as possible so I think he probably will.
I don’t think he would have made it with England, but he’s the kind of player I can see coming back to haunt us at some point with a match winning try.

Even so, he was very good in extremely trying weather conditions. Seems very eager from Wales though - he's a solid player, but two good games for Leicester doesn't make an international. I'll be really narked if they do cap him, as it'll screw up Leicester's EQP figures for what will likely be a 1-2 cap career.Digby wrote:Wasn't that Saints? A side so bad Hartley can get a game

Suspect this is Wales game plan for getting more players into the regions.Puja wrote:Even so, he was very good in extremely trying weather conditions. Cap them and with the false promise of potentially getting more caps move to Wales for a few years before realising they have made a mistake and try to move to the prem or stay at Wales for a cheap rate. (Eventually being replaced by another player) jack Roberts comes to mind was a good squad player at Tigers Wales said he could get capped if he moved to Cardiff moves to Cardiff on a cheaper deal and well look what has happened...
From Tigers POV Aspland-Robinson and Olowofela will likely be senior players next year with a couple of the U18’s from the academy coming up so his gap will be filled.
Also hearing talk that we are looking at a International quaility back.

Holmes also started out in the Wasps academy as a 9. I was disappointed we didn't look to bring him back from Leeds. Good luck to him
