Didn't need back row otherwise I'd have taken Willis. Sold Robson just covered 22 players and missing a bench hooker. Not the best of lineups and my kicker probably won't be kicking.

I’ve actually got a reasonable squad out, although a lot of my players were picked on the basis that they were unlikely to be selected for internationals.

I sold Marais who is injured but I’m keeping the cash in the bank for when I do need it.

Does anyone know how long Veainu is out for? I could use that money wisely if he’s out for the long term.

Looking for an injury update about a Tigers player. I think you'll know sometime in 2022.

Took the 20 point hit, but kept the spine of the team intact. Still unable to shift the deadwood as none of them are of high enough value to allow me to buy anyone else. Next week I'll try to clear one of them but I've got 4 of the buggers!
Sold Lozwozki to allow me to sign Willis and a couple of others. May struggle when the internationals are over though.

I really screwed myself with internationals already, as I just didn't realise the RC would overrun for the entire of the first half of the season. Basically I had WLR and FDK sitting there without being able to use them. And if I'd spent their wages on other players, it wouldn't have been sure I'd get that back...

At least I can finally pick the latter.

Not missing a huge chunk for internationals, but the players I picked up to cover the gaps are all either injured or suddenly Scottish.

It’s given him 28 points which is better than Batemans 5 points.

Bateman really is the worst this season. My only comfort is that everyone else has signed him too and we keep all playing him in the hope that he'll suddenly score big again.

My three rubbish buys this season are Bateman, Isekwe and Joe Simmonds. I’ve had better scoring brexit secretaries.

Perhaps, but his flexibility is very useful.

Bateman has been a dog of a signing for me too. The flexibility counts for nothing when he’s only averaging 10 points per game.

It does look like Props are scoring less points this season on average though.

Flexibility counts for a lot when you don't have any other fit hookers.

Yeah, but if he's only scoring 5 points, he's only very slightly better than picking someone who's not playing!

Agreed, and when my hookers are back he will go back in the emergency cupboard. However, 5 points is better than none from someone who is not playing. Plus I have to have someone in my team to keep the seat warm for Gengies return.

Despite Joe Simmonds and Bateman scoring a sum total of 4 points on my bench, I managed to get 481 points this week and 2nd overall for round 7 (only 7 points off first). I’ve scored more points before, but I’ve never been that close to topping the weekly standings.

Latest Rugby Rebels Premiership standings: https://therugbymagazine.com/fantasy/pr ... remiership

Team of the week:

1. Y. Thomas (Bristol)
2. Yeandle (Exeter)
3. Afoa (Bristol)
4. Stooke (Bath)
5. Davidson (Newcastle)
6. Lawday (Exeter)
7. S. Lewis (Worcester)
8. Dombrandt (Harlequins)
9. C. Mulchrone (Harlequins)
10. R. du Preez (Sale)
11. Naiyaravoro (Northampton)
12. Thorley (Gloucester)
13. Tompkins (Saracens)
14. Piutau (Bristol)
15. Woodward (Gloucester)

I got 381 which is not bad to say my bench had 4 non players on it. I’ve even jumped up in all standings quite a lot apart from this one where I moved up one place. It’s just goes to show the knowledge/skill/luck of the members of this board. It’s the toughest league there is.

I just can't catch a break. Poor games from a lot of players. Bateman, Luatua, Ross, Olowofela, Morris, Williams getting injured...

Lucky to have Faf back, plus good from Dombrandt, Thorley and Holmes.

I'm cementing my mid-table spot. I'm hoping next week will see an improvement.

I have good players but never seem to make a good call when it comes to who to make captain. I sort of have some standouts but an enormous amount of dross.

Didn't have a bad week considering neither Williams (of the Jonny variety at Falcons) or Leuia played, when I thought both were starters. It's interesting how much lower the average scores are this week with the internationals on!

I'm so glad I changed my captain from Ross 8 points to Faf 25...thats an extra 17 points, which is more than 6 of my team got!!!

Yep. A good choice of captain can make a huge difference.

I think this is only the second game week ever where I’ve picked my highest scoring player as captain.

Fitness permitting, I seem to have settled on a core of 20 or so players I can rely on to score reasonably well on a consistent basis.

Still need to get rid of Bateman and Joe Simmonds. Easily my two biggest duds.
