I agreed with that decision, but, in that scenario, I think the law is an ass.

Having been dropped on my head myself, I'm absolutely in favour of the law. It's dangerous play and, in most cases, completely unnecessary.

That will explain some things, as will the fact I have, too. The key, I think, is intention and likelihood of injury. There wasn’t really either in that incident.

Ha. Is that what was caught on the ref’s mic that the commentator had to apologise for?

That was weird too, we hear them explain how officiating will be done and still you're guessing game to game what the decision will be. But I'm more interested in what we do

The Aussies if we look at them need to sort the scrum post Ledesma and sort some of the more comical exit plays we'll see, I don’t think I've seen anyone make that many exit play howlers in one game for a long time at any serious level, and even their average exit plays were only that, average, and inviting pressure

That the decision was made so quickly once Peyper stopped the conversion tells you how obvious it was. I’ll grant you the officials are unreliable witnesses.
It wasn’t obvious to the ref and between forward and momentum that try was close enough for me that I wouldn't want the tmo involved
You can nip in before the next home match ;)
Oddly I don't need glasses, I'm pretty much the only one who doesn’t use them in the family. Still for me if the ref had ruled that lateral or forwards in the first instance I wouldn't mind try or not, but it's way short of my wanting a review to correct the ref

But I'm increasingly wanting a shocker of a decision before we get any change in ruling. I've no idea what most fans would expect and/or want in this area
