Hard to think of a tougher set of games, but even so... not a good day

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

26-0 down to Kenya and win 31-26. Play SA in QFs.

Very generous penalty try and yellow card.
Second yellow was probably more just, but what a way to gift the game to a side. 7 v 5 with seconds remaining and the choice of a scrum...plus the final pass was a mile forward.

That fuckwit owes the whole team a lot of beers after that braindead play.

HT 14-7 to les bleus. France are in white (do you see what I did there?)
Playing well so far. Quite direct - a bit more bosh up the middle.

FT 14-14. Through to the next round. Played well - was impressed. Silly yellow, but used their nous to deal with it. Hopefully they can pass on some of that on to the 15s!

Just catching up with the SA match and it's a complete capitulation so far. Disappointing day 2 after day 1. Look better playing more direct and not simply going side to side.

In two years time expect Van Der Merwe and Van Der Walt to be in the 7s team before 31/12/20 otherwise they will need to wait an additional 2 years. Kebble will probably play the AIs that year.

That's the 5 year residency cut off point.General Zod wrote:How does that work?Big D wrote:In two years time expect Van Der Merwe and Van Der Walt to be in the 7s team before 31/12/20 otherwise they will need to wait an additional 2 years. Kebble will probably play the AIs that year.

As OJ said that's the cut off dates for the 36month residency players to be capped by. Otherwise they need 5 years.General Zod wrote:How does that work?Big D wrote:In two years time expect Van Der Merwe and Van Der Walt to be in the 7s team before 31/12/20 otherwise they will need to wait an additional 2 years. I am not sure, in fact I'm doubtful if Van Der Walt will ever be an option at 10 but just now looking ahead it would be silly not to send him with the 7s.
He has rough edges but I really like Van Der Merwe. He could be a good wing option by then.

Re: 2017/18 Sevens route to world domination
Ah, that makes sense. Didn’t know there was an otherwise. Would we have to name our sevens team as our official development/ second team to make it count, or have World rugby scrapped all that bollocks after that welsh bloke we tried to cap? Did anyone’s head roll because of that? Am guessing no, and that he probably just had to get a round of shots in at the Roseburn.Big D wrote:
