Don't think there are many 10s available though, are there? Hastings & Hutchinson are both down south, Kinghorn attached to Edinburgh. Josh Henderson of Hawks was involved in the academy this season but I don't know how much time he gets or whether he's any good. Still very young as well.hp18 wrote:Not yet, though the EDPs haven't been logged for next year.OptimisticJock wrote:They must have a youngster on the books too?

Yeah not really sure. Don't really think it's worth signing a non youngster for those couple of occasions though. Can't think of anyone else in the squad (apart from hogg but he'd be away too) who could fill in thoughhugh_woatmeigh wrote:Don't think there are many 10s available though, are there? I would love to see Hastings at Glasgow. I'm delighted that he's at the academy of a big club but he has a lot of players ahead of him. The path to 1st XV rugby at bath is not clear at all. You have to think he would have a few appearances under Townsend by now.Cameo wrote:Yeah not really sure. Don't really think it's worth signing a non youngster for those couple of occasions though. Depends really.
Rumour mill has Priestland looking to sign for Worcester or Bristol - but depending on Bath finding a suitable replacement.
If he doesn't go this summer, I believe his contract is only until next anyway, and I can't see him extending really.
Hastings is fighting for 3rd choice FH with (injury prone IC) Bowden; (injury prone specialist IC who's rumoured to be returning to league) Eastmond; and (fellow academy players, whom Hastings was selected ahead of) Jennings & Herron.
Of that lot, Bowden would be favourite, if fit, then most likely Hastings as 4th choice - aged 19.
Of course, if Rhys continues to be selected for Wales and Ford for England, then for the 6N and AIs that fight for 3rd / 4th becomes starter and bench.

In a couple of years Bowden and Priestland will have left, opening up 2nd choice FH at the club - he's got 2 years to prove himself worthy of that, or see someone recruited above him - I think that's eminently fair for a 20 year old.

Bath have started him in league games to be fair, even if during the 6N.

3rd/4th, depending on where Horne is utilised. 2nd choice during internationals. Clegg is a one year deal.Big D wrote:He would be what 4th choice at Glasgow too?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:

So not massively different from his role at Bath really as it stands.hp18 wrote:3rd/4th, depending on where Horne is utilised. 2nd choice during internationals. Clegg is a one year deal.Big D wrote:He would be what 4th choice at Glasgow too?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:

Good looking team bar Wilson at 7 over Favaro IMO. Thought Peterson may have been worth a bench spot.

My point was nothing to do with his role being any different. I was merely pointing out he would likely get more time at Glasgow as Townsend seems more willing to give the younger lads opportunities if deserved.
Good squad but Favaro and Wilson are the wrong way around. Big congrats to Lee Jones who has been very good when given the opportunity this season. He's starting to cement his place as one of Toonie's first choice players and should be in the summer tour squad.

Bit of a blow that as Henry's been great since coming back from injury. However, very glad Price has been given the top spot over Hart. He's been excellent when given the chance, and I really hope he plays well tomorrow.Cameo wrote: didnt realise pyrgos was onjured again. When's he back?

Early jitters (mine): price is taking 0.5sec too long on the ball and Russell head isn't 100% on. Sure it'll come good tho.
It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
