He had a pretty good game. He's massive, fast, decent in the air and not selfish - uses the ball well.
He will certainly get better with experience.
He should stop the silly showboating of carrying the ball in one hand. Jones will have a word.
He already looks a better wing than Nowell, who is a real livewire, but just lacks the gas.

I realise how snarky that sounded now. I genuinely thought it might just be the post-match spilling over in here.

I somehow forgot that Graham went down too. Did we trump our injury count from that Wales game a few years back? Either way it really was something.

Jackson is fine I guess. Fife/Hoyland doesn’t do it for me at this level. Jones is always reliable, but I’m not sure reliable is going to be enough. Hastings was actually very enjoyable to watch there and he’s a good runner in loose play but no idea if he’s got the nuts and bolts of a fullback. Hughes at least seems to bring a bit of oomph and energy but don’t think his skills are up to it. I think Harris is fit again, but as a wing? Hmm.

Russel did look a bit shaky didn’t he. If there’s any doubt about his head then I see no reason to play him vs England. Curry and the like will be all over him.

He did score a great goal though.

Someone posted this on the weeg board and I agree.

Toony should ask Rennie and Cockerill who their XV is for the knock games they have coming up and work around that. Those two games are now of utmost importance to Scottish this season now that Toony has failed to deliver anything.

He’s leading us into an absolute hosing against England and is rather see the Weeg and Edinburgh for and prepared for their QFs. So we get railed by a few more points, it’s the same aimless, directionless, clueless f*cking shit anyway.

It seems ridiculous to not put out the best team for a 6 nations game, but there’s nothing on the line for Scotland and plenty for Glasgow/Edinburgh.

Really disappointed with this 6 nations and GT’s development. I can’t imagine what could happen next week that would change that.

Winning for the first time in Twickenham since 1983 would definitely make up for the previous 4 games. Doing it with all of the injuries that we have would, in some ways, be even better.

On the other hand, the 6N is still the biggest rugby tournament for me. Seeing us deliberately put out a second string team for any game would really hurt. It would be even worse to watch them get annihilated by a record score against a massively unsubtle England team.

I don’t disagree with the second bit. No idea what the full team might actually look like at the moment anyway. I guess the forwards are about the same, but the backs are going to be decimated anyway.

I don’t want to see them just roll over, but the club teams might be worth some consideration.

I don't think it would.

We have seen one (or two) off good performances. Another will mask what has happened this 6N.

Even allowing for all the injuries, the main issues have consistently been there for a while regardless of who wears 1-23.

I'm not sure mass change would see the team that weakened in some areas to be honest.

Gray Snr and Skinner in the second row, Berghan to start, I'd far rather see Rory Hutchinson parachuted in than see Grigg at 13 again (although he did nothing really wrong at the weekend).

Judging by all the whining in the press about last year we really need to get in their faces, they seem like very sensitive souls and easily wound up/ put off their game. Fully expecting a whipping though. It would be nice if we made a game of it.
