BBC are reporting CVC bidding to buy a percentage of the Six Nations and it would scupper the world league.

I assume the FFR see this as a chance to wrest control from the clubs more than anything else? It's always inspiring to see someone like Laporte who's taken a lot of money from the club game tell other people it's not for them, all aboard the Pichot hypocrite train

I... I feel kinda dirty for saying this, but I'm starting to warm to this idea now that some of the stupid has been knocked out of it. Now that the semi-final stage has been removed, it means no extra games in November (cause most NH teams would play 4 AIs anyway) and I do like the idea of there being an actual pathway for nations to progress. And having Fiji in the Rugby Championship wouldn't hurt either, nor would letting Japan capitalise on the boost from the RWC by giving them regular competition.
I'd want some actual conversation with the clubs to try and make some semblance of a unified season (or at least ones that weren't actively at odds), but I'm cautiously moving towards being in favour.

Given when they talk about the global game they really only mean the global elite test arena I think it sucks eggs
Also wtf do they mean when they say of the five billion income over 12 years that 1.5 billion of that is guaranteed incremental income? I'd assume they mean that's the additional funding they envisage going with this model but 40% is one hell of an increment
I'm still of the view other nations can build their foundations of junior and club rugby or not. If they can't they shouldn't be then trying to run an elite sector they can't afford

I'm broadly happy with it - relegation would be good, a season-end champion would be good - but ONLY if the Six Nations remains on terrestrial TV.
And none of it is f***ing streamed on f***ing Amazon.
