Reffing

Post by Banquo »

For all the complaints about reffing- in a great game in Paris, Luke Pearce has been fantastic in terms of use of TMO and not shirking big calls, and communicating with the players.

Kudos, I think.

Yep. Totally agree. I thought he had a very good game. He was consistent and fair and didn’t shirk a number of very big decisions.

From what I’ve seen the reffing in the Champions Cup this weekend has been top notch. Challenge Cup not so much.

Clancy single-handedly lowered the standard in the Clermont vs. Saints game.

He did. But that was to be expected.

Owens was good on Saturday.

Is there any footage of the elbow from Iturria.

I was watching on my iPad so couldn’t rewind, but I’m almost certain that he dropped an elbow in to the back of Lawes’ head in the melee following Naiyarovoro’s no-arms tackle.

Iturria is rapidly becoming one my least liked players in world rugby. He always seems to be involved in sneaky, unsavoury incidents.

Also in same game, Harrison is tipped up and lands on head/shoulder in touch. Penalty, yellow card? Nah, play on lads.

If the onfield officials missed it, then why hell didnt the TMO intervene. He must have seen the footage?
