Itoje at 6 is 'interesting' as a come back move. Sarries need to re-find some form; Loz lucky to keep his place imo.

I feel like form might go out the window given the bad blood between these sides and the Calcutta cup game will add to that too. I’m expecting to hate Itoje by the end of today, with him having an absolute stormer.Banquo wrote:Itoje at 6 is 'interesting' as a come back move. Mad reshuffle with Goode to 10? Lozowski doesn't seem to be considered a fly-half at all anymore.

It just doesn't work. Don't know if it's me or the website is being spazzy.

If Glasgow can learn how to catch a ball in the next 50 minutes, they will have nullified the entire opposition attack.

Do the glasgow coaches all have to wear the same lumberjack shirt?

It's as if the ball isn't out until the scrum-half has it at chest height. How are you meant to judge when you're going offside if hands on the ball doesn't mean it's out?

That Barritt injury is crucial potentially, he's so important for Sarries.
I'd just said to Mrs B that the pitch attracts a lot of lower leg injuries- is it studs getting 'stuck'?

Losing Brad is a blow. He is integral to the team. Swinson also hurt an ankle. I know a number of players dont like the surface as there is no give.
Saracens just got better and more dominant as the game progressed. George was excellent, and his fellow England players were also very good.

Dingwall did his lower leg on that pitch earlier in the season too. I wrecked my knee training on an artificial pitch and it was exactly as Banquo suggests, studs got stuck and then fell awkwardly almost on top of my own leg beneath me.

I'd rate Williams as the best back three player in the GP and maybe in the NH. I know from choice Saracens and Wales play him on the wing but he's a better FB than either Goode or Halfpenny, IMO.
I think that Saracens play more instinctively effective rugby with Goode at 10 than they ever do with Farrell. Defensively, with Barritt keeping Farrell in line positionally they are probably a tighter unit and therefore harder to beat. Also, with Farrell there to take place kicks, Lozowski's place would be at risk.
George was superb.

Watching the replay of this......if Jones wants to continue playing as we did in this 6N why don’t we just pick the Sarries XXIII and just fill in the blanks.

Before that injury I was thinking that if England want to go with a powerful, straight-running 12, who can also pass a bit and is a strong defender, they could worse than take another look at Barritt, especially if he is to play outside Farrell. I'd rate him ahead of Te'o (though I am not sure whether Jones now sees Te'o as a 12 or 13, or a bit of both.)Banquo wrote:That Barritt injury is crucial potentially, he's so important for Sarries.

Lol. Nice bloke, very skilful; I do wonder how good he could have been at 10.Mellsblue wrote:Good. Harshly viewed by England fans, who were looking for more pizazz from a 12. His game is pretty limited, but one of these players who enable better players to do their thing.Spiffy wrote:Before that injury I was thinking that if England want to go with a powerful, straight-running 12, who can also pass a bit and is a strong defender, they could worse than take another look at Barritt, especially if he is to play outside Farrell.
