OK its a bit of fun bur Alex Shaw really knows his stuff about junior rugby and has an eye for promising up and coming talent.

In a league with no promotion/relegation it would make sense as a tool to keep teams balanced and add a bit of excitment...

I should bookmark this article and keep it for four years down the line as I think the main thing this would show is that you're really guessing when it comes to assessing player talent at this age. If there was an actual draft, I don't think anyone would take tighthead props in the first round, as its a lottery as to which ones develop and which ones don't. People would focus on half-backs and wings imo.

Still, fun look at the up and coming academy players.

After the Giants performance last night I’m glad there is no draft. Goodness knows what Bedford would do - probably a combo comprising of Charlie Mathews, PDJ and Hugo Ellis.
