Nige was not good today but Leinster played like the team they are - one of the best teams in Europe. They deserved their win but having said that it would be nice to see an Irish club/national team approach a game against Scotland/Glasgow without the intention to take Stuart Hogg out of the game. Combine that with the mind numbing brand of rugby they play, it's hard to like 'em but it works - consistently. So fair f*cks.

Someone explain to me whether they have changed the rules since Russell got a ban when trying to duck away from Biggar. They decided that was a red but Kearney is apparently a yellow. The rules around that area are a joke but it really sticks in the throat seeing Kearney coming back on with Hogg off. Just a few months after O'mahony got away with doing him too

Glasgow (and Scotland) have a lot to be optimistic about though. G Horne, Stewart, Steyn & Cummings. Christ... what a bunch. I daresay that Cummings will justifiably keep Big Ritchie out of the Scotland squad now.

Otherwise well fought but Leinster's safety first kicking game had the advantage in that weather. Tough for Glasgow to up the pace when it was tough to hold on to the ball.

That Leinster passage of play where they went through 25+ phases in the second half was just awful... I was so bored by it.

And honestly I have no idea how there isn't a penalty almost every time. Surely it's either latching on to a ball carrier before contact (and therefore a flying wedge) or it's going off feet and the breakdown and sealing off.

Don't get me wrong, every side (inc. Glasgow) do it and i've never been able to understand how it's legal. Seeing it happen for 20 phases just made it extremely clear that i need it explained to me...

Leinster and Sarries know how to win games. Wee things matter. Before half time when they should have been thinking 3 points minimum Hastings throws a huge miss pass and the winger gets forced into touch. Teams well versed in winning big games don't do that.

Wee bit tasty walking to Parkhead from town after the football result! People happy and good natured but I wasn’t hanging about.

Leinster deserved that win - not too much inspiration but hugely professional and clinical. Glasgow just made a couple more mistakes and tried to force it too much at times against a huge defence. Good to see a 47,000 crowd in the East End of Glasgow for a rugby match.

That's pretty much it. Glasgow gifted them a 7 point score in a 3 point game.

In every era there are one or two teams who play utterly clinical, effective but boring rugby. Ten years ago it was Leicester and Munster, whilst Lenister were the romantics choice (the contepomi era). Today there are two teams capable of playing that way to a high enough standard, Lenister and Saracens. Easy to admire, tough to love.

Having watched that game I hope that Glasgow retain their ambition and approach to the game. They're not likely to ever play Lenister rugby to that standard so they might as well entertain and see what happens.

I’ve tried to start ignoring the sealing off / off feet thing, but it was just absurd (even winning them a card?!) today. They do love a good neck roll too.

I’m pleased for Glasgow to stick with it when they weren’t totally clicking or getting the bounce of the ball, often they’d crumble at that point, but 7 pointers in a game of 3s sounds about right.

I assume you mean Zander and not Matt?

I think we've got a very special player in M Fagerson and I did a quick check on the game stats to check I wasn't mixed up (and you were indeed suggesting Matt)

He made 27 tackles and missed 1 - the most of anyone. He also made 16 carries - second only to Conan. This guy is TWENTY years old. I'm also starting to wonder if he's as "small" as some claim, surely the original 6 foot billing would have come when he first broke through at 18 or so. He's looking quite tall & filled out now but certainly not a wrecking ball like Strauss.

Felt like Fraser Brown's injury had a big impact on Glasgow's defence. He is a disruptive force for Glasgow with an aggressive edge and his great at stealing balls. Leinster seemed to struggle to accumulate their set peace before that.

I agree. I thought he meant ZF because I do think he is a flat track bully. Always comes undone in the scrum against more experienced opponents - although I thought Healy was the one dropping it during those scrums in the weeg 22.

I was talking about Matt. I wasn’t saying he wasn’t good, but thought he might not have that extra level against the best sides. But yes he’s been pretty consistently fantastic since returning from injury.

Didn't say he would be sweating, just he should be. Fagersons end to the season and Bradburys end to the 6N should show the coaching staff that there is no reason the future can't be now.

The training camps will be intense in that back row. Only Watson should be seen as a cert unless he falls off a cliff in terms of form and fitness.
