I didn't watch it all, but was it just me that wasn't impressed with tuima? Most carries weren't that good and bad discipline?

He reminds me of Cokanasiga at the same age; looks impressive, does some good, athletic things, but needs 18 months/2 years of pro level S&C to start getting the most from his physical gifts. Tom Willis is the better player at the moment.

Willis and Hinkley (? the 7 right?), both seem to work a lot harder, smarter and run with a lot more venom.

Tuima just seems like a very large human being.

Yep - 100% agree with this. Willis has looked far superior in pretty much every respect. He’s not as big, but he’s been a lot more effective in attack and in defence.

Tuima is a year behind Willis. He has bulk and some skill but does look an inferior player right now.
Be nice to see us put in a big performance later. I liked what I saw of Capon and Capstick last time out and our backs do possess some real talent.

Ignoring the red, if you look at someone like Barbaery, he's younger still, hugely physically dominated his own age group, but still shows a great skill set. I haven't seen close to the same from tuima.

Barbeary is a freak though.

Tuima undoubtedly has the raw credentials of a pretty freakish athlete himself- only just 19 years old, 6’ 5”, a natural 20 stone-ish, moves well etc- but he also looks pudgy and soft. From what I gather he’s also very highly rated at Exeter, which tells me he must have some decent fundamentals as a rugby player.

Tuima is still in his "teenage body" which is bizarre given his size but makes a scary prospect when he grows into his frame.

TBF, u20s is more about development and if the coaches believe some players have a higher ceiling, they may be willing to invest more in them.

Not sure the players will see it like that- it's both a showcase (and a bad one if your team isn't very good) and also for many the peak of their careers.

Just turned it on to see Ted Hill score a brace in 2 minutes. Do England have any chance of getting into the top tier?

Table popped up so I see England are at best 3rd in their group. That was a shame. Hopefully battering the 14-man Aussies will get it out of their systems.

Looks like you are giving them a good old fashioned rogering. We are trying to claw our way back against the baby meat-eaters.

Not sure they’ll have got it out of our systems. Even if we won by a healthy margin, conceding that many points to a team who play with 14 men for 78mins isn’t a good look.

Most notable feature of this tourn. has been the number of early red cards for over-exuberant collisions early in matches ('high' / dangerous) invariably determining the outcome. Not sure if yellaes would be more appropriate unless clear malice evident. Many of them are split-second therefore technical in nature.
Arg. getting a head of steam now with enthusiastic support.Good skill and powerful running today.
Some good work again by Capstick, Hill, Willis for Eng.
Sleightholme has gas and a good nose for a chance.

From the games POV the red was disappointing but given what has happened so far, the officials had little option but to give it.
England took a step up I thought. There was a bit more fluency about their attack with some nice offloading. The centres combined very well, the back 3 looked lively and several of the forwards delivered strong games. Against that we conceded 5 tries to 14 men, didnt score after 63 minutes, lost line outs and kicked indifferently. Work to do still but a step in the right direction.
Thought the Aussie 7 was outstanding. Some player.

Tbf it was 56-19 with about 8 minutes to play and the Ozzie’s got a couple of consolation try’s. England did play well and this was by far the most inventive and cohesive they’ve looked in attack. Lineout was abysmal though.

Even though they were down to 14 men we did generally look a lot more powerful than they did, and that’s the best I’ve seen Redpath play so far.

Really hope we beat Ireland, as I don’t actually think there’s been much between the two teams in the 2 games they’ve played against each other so far, we’ve just contrived ways to lose both matches.

100% agree on your last paragraph. I think we would have beaten Ireland last week if we had played with 15 men for more than 45mins.
