Only 11 caps at a time when you had Andy Powell playing! I know he had injuries and went to Aus but agree with your assessment of unrealised potential.

Combination of very poor luck with injuries, playing abroad in a position that enabled Gatland to apply his "law" and an evident lack of enthusiasm from the coaching team in his talents. Being honest, I've never been gutted that he wasn't a Cardiff player- I've always found him to be solid but unspectacular. How much of that is a result of injury, we'll never know I guess.

The Dragons are losing Faletau, maybe there's an opening there? I doubt Cardiff desperately need another backrower

Agreed. When he had a run off fitness, he was a very good player. IIRC, he fell foul of Gatland when Delve wanted to have a proper pre season rather than join a SH tour.UKHamlet wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/36286565

I think I said at the time that it was a poor signing, much as I like Delve he's never fit.
