Parking & transport to the France game on Sat

Post by hugh_woatmeigh »

Didn't want to derail the main thread but could any of the Edinburgh locals please help out as I'm conscious about parking with the fringe on.

My pal has recently moved to Edinburgh so equally as clueless as me. He's in Argyle place (south side of the meadows) - where is the best place to dump my car? Ideally for a few hours but preferably overnight.

Best way to get to the game from there? Looks like any public transport will take just as long as walking although the latter has never bothered us. Guessing an Uber to somewhere like Tynecastle or thereabouts before the traffic builds up & jump out?

Cheers

If you can leave your car near Argyle Place - there is a fair amount of metered parking around there that is Mon- Fri so no charge over the weekend. However Festival may make it difficult to find a spot.

You can then walk to Murrayfield pretty easily from Argyle Place - less than 45mins. If you can’t be arsed, Uber to Gorgie Road and then walk through the Sainsbury’s and under the tram line to Roseburn St gates will work.

Have heard of a few people who bite the bullet and pay for parking out near airport then tram it in.

There is free parking about a mile away from argyle place. If you google Edinburgh car park zones you will find it.

There is no need to pay for parking near the airport, Ingliston P&R is free and you simply pay the tram fare.

ETA: limitation is that you can’t park there overnight.

What I like about this board is that, not only do you all generally only use one thread for everything in a single meandering conversation, but you feel the need to apologise and explain for daring to open a new one.

Haha I have wondered about that as it makes it look like nothing ever happens on this board. You lot seem to start a new thread any time someone rewatches a game.

In a new high, we now have two new threads for someone rewatching a game!

You’re both on drugs. Now it makes sense.
