It could be nothing at all, a storm in a teacup that's reached the news simply because a Heil journalist was present. However, I'm concerned that it's a lack of squad discipline, that Murphy isn't respected enough for his standards to be adhered to.

Yup - you can see it both ways at this point.
Might have just been a bit of pushing and shoving by outsiders wanting to take on the big blokes.
The article says it was reported about 11:30 and the Tigers players were on a night off, so it might not even by a lack of discipline and respect.

In a good team environment, you don't get those kind of situations - players respect the club enough not to want to let them down and their teammates are more willing to defuse things for the same reason. You never hear of Saracens getting into trouble and they go out on the lash all the time.richy678 wrote:Yup - you can see it both ways at this point.

Agh. Was hoping this was more detail on the Treviso bust-up.
You'd think I'd know, but the memory is hazy.

Perhaps. From what I’ve read, the Tigers boys were a bit rowdy but didn’t do anything massively out of order and Tom Youngs was trying to defuse the situation even when glasses were being thrown at him.Puja wrote:In a good team environment, you don't get those kind of situations - players respect the club enough not to want to let them down and their teammates are more willing to defuse things for the same reason. Not 100% sure on that.Puja wrote:In a good team environment, you don't get those kind of situations - players respect the club enough not to want to let them down and their teammates are more willing to defuse things for the same reason. A lot depends on the variables.
Also these situations do happen a surprising amount of times. Most of the times owners of the pubs/bar/club usually work something out. (Mostly when it's the teams fault and the club will pay to stop a leak).
It's not great but not on this level https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2016/ ... s-incident just yet.
