Looks about right and like the bench. Berghan over Fagerson and Cummings over Toolis. Darcy to cause some chaos late on but given weather/experience/opposition can see the logic for starting Seymour.

Worried about 10 cover but looks banging otherwise.

Delighted to see Toony has realised Z Fagerson is way, way off the pace. I thought he was one of the favourites...

There's a real lack of ball carriers in that pack and that could let Ireland strangle the game. Without a Cunipola type to knock them backwards we could struggle to go anywhere.

Front row options on the bench worry me, or lack of options.

I think GT has played it pretty safe and it is hard to blame him. But that being said Barclay and Seymour owe him a performance as both were poor in the warm ups IMO.

But we all know that Ireland what Ireland are going to do. Toony should moreso than anyone. So if he hasn't got a game-plan up his sleeve to counter that then that's on him. He cannot be that much of an idiot.

Not sure how the front row options on the bench could be improved in any way.

It is his defence coach I am worried about.

Presume that Laidlaw's the main cover for 10, so Price only gets on if Finn needs to come off. If Laidlaw gets a knock then Gray will just have to carry him from ruck to ruck.

Well, he can't get any slower...

Boom boom. Actually, just read on the Offside Line that Harris is covering 10?!

Scotland: Hogg; Seymour, Taylor, Johnson, Maitland; Russell, Laidlaw; Dell, McInally (captain), Nel, Gilchrist, Gray, Barclay, Watson, Wilson.

Replacements: Brown, Reid, Berghan, Cummings, Thomson, Price, Harris, Graham.

FFS. Wilson? Seymour? Hogg covering 10 with Harris to the wing? Brilliant.

Any idea if Kinghorn is not fit or just not considered to be offering more than the others? We need to attack Ireland in the wide channels. I guess we're banking on Taylor/Hogg conjuring something there.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to this yourself.

Missed the lack of 10 cover on the bench.

I don’t buy Harris covering 10. If Russell goes off in first 5 minutes there is surely no way Harris is getting thrown in there. Hogg or Laidlaw to 10 >>> Harris.

Fck - hope Russell is wearing his armour.

Considering P Horne offers similar coverage & we don't need wing cover with Darcy there it's a bit of a blunder alright. Otherwise you can't complain too much.

I mean I didn't know if that head-knock he went off with was serious, but sure, I certainly don't question GT's loyalty to Tommy.

And on that topic, Kinghorn would surely be a useful makeshift 10 if Hastings is apparently so unneeded.

Harris's main attribute seems to be as a defensive organiser, it makes a spot on the bench a very odd choice.

I wasn't saying they could, it just looks very weak to me.

It looks like he has thought "shit I can't drop Darcy how do I squeeze him in? Ah fuck it Harris is sub 10".

I'd have picked Graham over Seymour (and Price over Laidlaw) but can't be too unhappy with that.

Re the 10 spot I wonder if he has just taken the view that Taylor is the most likely injury and he prefers Harris covering 13 than Horne or Johnson who have barely played there. Russel is staying on the whole game unless he gets injured so would prefer proper 13 cover/options.

Begs the question whether Hutchison isn't better suited to the 10/13 cover role.
