Post by jimKRFC »

Bristol team to face London Irish:

15. Mat Protheroe; 14. Toby Fricker, 13. Piers O’Conor, 12. Will Hurrell, 11. Luke Daniels; 10. Tiff Eden, 9. Andy Uren; 1. Jake Woolmore, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. John Afoa (c), 4. Ed Holmes, 5. Aly Muldowney, 6. Joe Joyce, 7. Dan Thomas, 8. Nathan Hughes.

Replacements: 16. Shaun Malton, 17. Yann Thomas, 18. Max Lahiff, 19. John Hawkins, 20. Jake Heenan, 21. Harry Randall, 22. Callum Sheedy, 23. Charlie Powell

Another mix of 1st/2nd/3rds as Pat uses this for preseason.

And the Irish side:

15 Jacob Atkins, 14 Matt Williams, 13 Brendan Macken, 12 Theo Brophy Clews, 11 Ollie Hassell-Collins, 10 Stephen Myler ©, 9 Caolan Englefield, 1 Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi, 2 Ross McMillan, 3 Ollie Hoskins, 4 Barney Maddison, 5 Ruan Botha, 6 Max Northcote-Green, 7 Conor Gilsenan, 8 Isaac Curtis-Harris.

Replacements:

16 Ben Atkins, 17 Will Goodrick-Clarke, 18 Patric Cilliers, 19 Chunya Munga, 20 Jack Cooke, 21 Scott Steele, 22 Phil Cokanasiga, 23 Ben Loader.

Have to confess to now knowing how strong a side that is, but surely a record for the use of double-barreled names!

Mixed side from LI. Lots who played good parts of the championship campaign, but you’ll see quite a few drop down as the signings come to the fore. Some decent youngsters too. Really like Munga, he’s ready for the step to adult rugby! He and Cokanasiga are fresh out of school.

I heard if you knock him down, he gets back up again.

You're never going to keep him down.
