So Lavinini, Puja?

And also, May has seriously become a quality player in all aspects. The presence of mind to call the mark and stop the quick play to call for the TMO...

Lavannini getting sent off has been some time coming. He’s probably fucked the Pumas’ chances.

Oh it's a clear red card but the amount of cards in this RWC is now unprecedented and we're still in the pool stages. Players need to be given the proper time & training to adapt. Refs letting clear reds fly & carding debatable offences doesn't help the confusion.

That's the exact type of tackle we need to remove from the game.

Leading with the shoulder needs to be stamped out.

Why did Daly not take that long-range kick?

I completely disagree with the first point.

It's been coming for a while, we've been talking about high tackles, leading with the shoulder, not wrapping, etc. So to be sent off for it should be no surprise. Get lower, don't lead with the shoulder, wrap your arms properly.

Secondly, yes, I agree. Lead with the shoulder, you're carded. Lead with the shoulder high, you're off permanently.

Wait - we have 2 threads for this match? sorry, I just posted in the "wrong" one.

Can someone remind what HIA stands for?

I was under the impression that it was for Head Injury Assessment, but it seems to be for "Loss of Conscioussness Assessment".
That's the 2nd clean hit to the head for Farrell in as many games - he should at the least, have to be getting an HIA.

Nothing wrong with that tackle other than the height. Shame for the spectacle and competiveness of the game.

Iceman kicking stats not getting any better. Billy three carries, three knock ons .. I cannot believe how much May has matured, I am converted.

That's a pretty big "other than" - there was nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact that it was outright dangerous and rightly outlawed from the game

That's a belated red for the hit on Hughes' knee.

I don't disagree it's a red card offence, however Stom was intimating it was a shoulder charge as well.

100%.

Australia this morning were still tackling like rugby league. Players should not need to “relearn”. We have been coaching to tackle low for ever .. it’s about time this is enforced as it is the only way it will change.

Farrell has learnt! He pulled out of what would have been a dangerous tackle!
