The ice in Farrell's veins is melting in this humidity. Some shite kicking so far.

That's a pretty big "other than" - there was nothing wrong with it, apart from the fact that it was outright dangerous and rightly outlawed from the game
I don't disagree it's a red card offence, however Stom was intimating it was a shoulder charge as well.
Yeah, I'm not defending that bit - he had both arms out, and wrapped... about 3 feet above Farrell's head (exaggeration for effect)

Tackle with player off the ground.
Not dangerous tho
Isn't there an argument that he took a player in the air and didn't return him safely to the ground? For the record I think it was sensible reffing and the right decision but with some other refs it would have been yellow and that's an issue.

Great position lost by handling error in midfield.
Arg will be happy at being able to hang on though puffing
a bit.

Secondly, yes, I agree. Lead with the shoulder, you're carded. Lead with the shoulder high, you're off permanently.
100%.

Australia this morning were still tackling like rugby league. Players should not need to “relearn”. We have been coaching to tackle low for ever .. it’s about time this is enforced as it is the only way it will change.
Should have issued the crack down at the start of last season though. It's ruining games by making them one sided.

Agree, a game too far for Billy, way too many basic mistakes and minimal impact in the carries. Some nice movement for a change but not making the last pass. Try should have come earlier. Pressure pays off. Farrell still nailing it ..

Not a charge, but leading with the point of the shoulder. I hate it because if that point catches you, it's very dangerous. We're not taught that, we're taught a round shoulder because it gives you more control.

It's all for the "hit", which is just so wrong.

Why isn't dropping Curry a card? It's not a tackle but he dropped him on his head...

They’ve been given “last last warning” for over a year. Maybe enforcing it at the World Cup is the only way the message will get through. Agree it is having a major effect on some matches but so it should. Tackle properly and you have no problems

Yes - but quoting you for the timing.

Now, how many upright posts is Farrell seeing at the moment?

Youngs redeems himself a little after a succession of poor bits of distribution

How many times did Youngs choose the wrong option then? We were close to being turned over a few times

Probably because of Lavinini's red card. Reds often buy a little leniency for the other 14
