Bronze Medal Match
I wonder if the ABs will be up for this one. While Wales will also be disappointed with not making the final, they have an opportunity to roll the ABs, something they haven't done since 1953. More to play for perhaps? Will Hansens swan song be the motivation the ABs need? Will anyone watch?
Forget the final, this is the match of the weekend.

Wales are physically on their knees. I’m sure the players will be up to send Gatland and AWJ off in style, but whether there’s much left in the tank is another matter.

About the only reason to watch this match is the chance of history being being made by Wales.

I never get why people hate third placed playoffs. I normally think they are good fun with the pressure off

If SA win the final and we beat Wales then having beaten SA ourselves and everyone else we played bar a blip v England we then get the moral victory World Cup

I don’t think the pressure is off. If the All Blacks win, this will still be seen as a sub-par RWC. If they lose to Wales for the first time in 66 years, I imagine there will be something of an outcry.Cameo wrote:I never get why people hate third placed playoffs. Side note: there are only 2 living men who have lost an All Blacks test v Wales.

Both sides have a chance to draw level with France for this one.Buggaluggs wrote:The coveted Most Fourth Place Finishes record?Lizard wrote:About the only reason to watch this match is the chance of history being being made by Wales.

New Zealand: B Barrett; B Smith, Crotty, S Bill-Williams, Ioane; Mo'unga, A Smith; Moody, Coles, Laulala, Retallick, S Barrett, Frizzell, Cane, Read (capt).
Hang on. This can't be right? His second name can't be Bill-Williams? Is this just the BBC being as typical sloppy as usual or have I been wrongly thinking he was called Sonny-Bill all this time? I love that they even put an initial as if there's another Bill-Williams floating about.

Well done All Blacks, flashes of old following last weekends performance, although our defence was shocking at times but your supporting play was exceptional.
