There were some interesting stats on the SHMB that showed how winters try scoring frequency fell as the got more caps. For me he's probably third choice now. If only we had some other options to compete to push Graham and Kinghorn.

A real shame, I don't think he was ever going to make the next RWC but I'd have thought he had a couple more years at international level left in the tank and 3-4 at domestic.

He was a match winner and a game changer. I don't recall specifics but I'm sure there are a fair few interception or poachers tries from Seymour that were the difference between winning and losing matches. Bar Hogg he probably ran the best support lines of any Scotland player in recent memory.
With Barclay I feel time is up but with Seymour I feel we're losing a player who still has a lot to offer Scotland. A real shame.

It is amazing how some wingers burst on the scene then fall off. Kinghorn has 7 in 17 (12 starts) and Seymour only scored 1 in 10 (v Russia) to end his international career.

best all round winger for Scotland since, well certainly since pro rugby and I think further back. Best ever in the air with no-one else close. May have lost a yard which does make all the difference, and Seymour will know - best players always do and know when to bow out

Never seemed quite the same from around the time of the lions tour, but I think there was some personal stuff going on for him. I suppose I can understand not wanting to fade away but leave on his own terms, but it’s a shame to lose him.

There was a patch where it felt like if he got in a bit of space out on the right with Jones/Hogg on the ball we were bound to score.

That South Africa game in 2012 I think? The bonus point try vs Italy when we desperately needed it and his hand in Jones’s try vs the ABs are some of the standouts for me. I’m just gutted he didn’t manage to make a statement as a Lion. He was one of our very few who was perfect for a Gatland side.

I’m trying to find the clip of the 4 tries he scored against Leinster a while back and the commentator can do nothing but shout “TOMMY SEYMOUR! TOMMY SEYMOUR!” over and over.

I've met a lot of people far & wide in Scotland but I can't say I've ever met someone I'd bank on spending their free time making Scotland rugby tribute videos.
