Unless I'm being an idiot there isn't already a thread for this.
Did anyone just see how that game ended? With Slimani being brought (back) on to win that final scrum (just as he did for France a couple of years back I think) at the end.
Am I just being swayed too hard by the commentary or was that really dodgy?

I couldn't see what the injury actually was. Also, did quins maybe have a shout for penalty in that last maul? Fun game to watch though. Dombrandt is fun to watch.

It did seem very dodgy.
Clancy was very lenient with Clermont at the breakdown. There was one turnover in which Fischer was bridging two players with a Quins player on his back but was still holding his own weight......
All that said, it was a great performance by a mainly second string Quins. I expect to see Ross Chisholm run out at Goldington Rd at some point next season. Rank average. Shame, as I thought he had a lot of promise when he first broke through.

Chis never developed after his injuries. Not that he ever looked anything except fast, tbh.Mellsblue wrote:It did seem very dodgy.

He’s apparently only there because his brother wanted him to be offered a contract and Quins were desperate to keep James.

He had speed but knew how to deploy it, angles of running etc. Tbf, he had a really bad run of injuries at that period when you are transferring to senior rugby and that hasn’t helped.Stom wrote:Chis never developed after his injuries. Even without that shameful bit of nonsense Quins still had a lot to do to get back on terms. Showed some good signs i thought overall. They arent short of good players.

I know it's a big shout to say they would have turned that scrum in to a score and levelled the game, but seems odd that commentators so often pick up on this stuff and then... who cares? Doesn't matter? Move on? Wait for the next time Slimani is required to cheat to win a game? Odd.
