I'd prefer just a straight up and down, not even a play-off, it saves having to worry about player release or further imposing on the clubsp/d wrote:Exactly.Digby wrote:Then they'd have little to fear from a play-off

Yep. Apart from the chance of a bit of winter sunshine I don’t see the point of ring fencing it.Digby wrote:I'd prefer just a straight up and down, not even a play-off, it saves having to worry about player release or further imposing on the clubsp/d wrote:Exactly.Digby wrote:Then they'd have little to fear from a play-off

I hope EJ is taking notes on Wales' outside defence.

Good game Ireland v Wales, they'll both pose us a lot of problems. Tompkins not looking quite so much of a loss today

Agreed. We need a big game today or we're going to end up 4th or 5th.Banquo wrote:Good game Ireland v Wales, they'll both pose us a lot of problems. Tompkins not looking quite so much of a loss today

As Mr. Mwenda pointed out, Wales outside defence is rubbish. Hopefully It’s something we can exploit, IF we don’t resort to kicking it away at every opportunity.
We’re generally better at HQ so I fancy us to raise our game (it wouldn’t be hard) for Ireland and Wales. Let’s not assume France are back until they’ve played away from SdF against someone other than Italy.

Wales can't pass at 9, 10, 12 and 13.. And even with that Stephen Jones has improved the side to watch on attackStom wrote:He looked caught between 2 systems to me.Scrumhead wrote:I thought the same. I always have a small smile when Ireland are turned over via the choke tackle. Karma is a beautiful thing.

Fair play to Italy, playing so poorly and still within 3 points.

Wales beat this Italy side 42 - 0. I know italy tend to fade, but I don't feel France are looking that special. Dupont is looking special, what we wouldn't give for him.

France perhaps discovering they can't count on the ball bouncing the right way in every match...
