Two strong sides, could be a good game. DC back from injury ahead of time, we’ve missed slater too, great to see him on the bench. Think we have Marshall and Banahan in the wrong positions but what do I know....

I’m surprised to see Hogg starting for Exeter.

Cips and Slater returning are big boosts for Glos. Quite a test for Exeter who are missing a lot of players. Williams and Simmonds with something to prove. Should be a good contest.

Yeah exe are looking pretty ropey at the moment. Not sure sure how this will play out.

Glos have looked equally as ropey frankly over the last few games. Yet to hit form.twitchy wrote:Yeah exe are looking pretty ropey at the moment. Not sure sure how this will play out.

It makes a nonsense of the 6N gap weeks, IMO. I suppose he might argue that he would not have played had the game been on Saturday.Scrumhead wrote:I’m surprised to see Hogg starting for Exeter.

Oh come on; he's not been that bad for Scotland!Scrumhead wrote:I’m surprised to see Hogg starting for Exeter.

Exhibit A of why we're right to only select players playing in England.

Why? because his play has been sub-par at international level?Scrumhead wrote:I’m surprised to see Hogg starting for Exeter.

Polledri and Braley on the bench for a Glos is only marginally better.

Armand and Kvesic seem to be very much on the fringes so far this season. Injuries or just not fancied?

You are starting Chris Harris as well, although I can understand you forgetting that he's an international player.Gloskarlos wrote:Polledri and Braley on the bench for a Glos is only marginally better.

His minutes played tally in the 6n is very low. In addition to his unmemorable credentials. Easily therefore overlooked.Puja wrote:You are starting Chris Harris as well, although I can understand you forgetting that he's an international player.Gloskarlos wrote:Polledri and Braley on the bench for a Glos is only marginally better.

Rumours Kvesic is off might be a factor here. No idea why Armand isn’t playing but as a Glos fan I’m not disappointed.Timbo wrote:Armand and Kvesic seem to be very much on the fringes so far this season. Injuries or just not fancied?

Which leaves the pain of exhibits B-Z and watching Robshaw stink the place out at 7 whilst Steff was tearing up the T14 and Europe. Though in fairness dropping Steff into the mish mash nonsense of Burt's selection and tactics might not have changed much in our favour. Bloody annoying thoughPuja wrote:Oh come on; he's not been that bad for Scotland!Scrumhead wrote:I’m surprised to see Hogg starting for Exeter.![]()

When you think about it, was it the French that started the trend of playing our open-sides at 8?Digby wrote:Which leaves the pain of exhibits B-Z and watching Robshaw stink the place out at 7 whilst Steff was tearing up the T14 and Europe. Didn't the French just pick 5 No8s covering the second row and backrow in the original "Big is Beautiful" gameplan.

Saffas have always been off-on into playing a small 8 (accompanied by big flankers) since the playing days of Tommy Bedford.Oakboy wrote:When you think about it, was it the French that started the trend of playing our open-sides at 8?Digby wrote:Which leaves the pain of exhibits B-Z and watching Robshaw stink the place out at 7 whilst Steff was tearing up the T14 and Europe. More recently Cheetars used Brosseau as eight and Watson was used by Western Province? and Bath in this way.
There was no pretence to convert them into actual no.8s by doing this whereas Eddie seems to think he can transform Tom Curry into Wayne Shelford as if by magic

Not the way Basta does it, I suspect. Comparing his corpulent performances for RUNY so far with the svelte and professional 38 year old Nonu in San Diego is embarrassing.Digby wrote:But that's more running

Ideally you'd move for both, but in theory it's easier at 12 providing you don't blitz and don't even push hard on the drift. Where does he go at 8, the blindside?Puja wrote:Not the way Basta does it, I suspect.
