PS thought Harris provided some essential weight in a couple of those ruck phases as well. He came in off the line on at least one occasion to contribute.

Huge mistake. That's all on Hastings I'm afraid. Great creation of space, great acceleration through the gap but passes to no-one and now Italy are in our 22.

Got out of jail but that is poor.

I am confident he will learn from that mistake

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Pretty Russell-esque game from him today?

Sutherland again to make that gap for the run too. I can't believe he's come in and played like this yet is going to be fighting Schoeman again to be first choice back at Edinburgh?

Good analogy. You feel for him, as he’s trying so hard! Hope he catches a break next time.

Here come the subs...

I hope it's nothing serious that is the very same prop who kept screaming @ Fagerson "I'll fuck you up, I'll fuck you up" carted off the pitch.

Yup. Harris needed to back himself more in that position but poor support yet again.

Cummings not as good a footballer as Ritchie. Shame. That would have been amazing.

Nope, it's been 90% poor. Five more points and this game is comfortable now. He's not creating, that's coming off Italian ineptitude and there's been a high number of basic mistakes. Russell makes mistakes when trying something. Ok this performance Hastings isn't in the same league.

How are they not getting pinged every single ruck?

One thing Hastings is not learning from is his schoolboy trait of running sideways around players.

He's looking a bit ineffective the last few minutes - a fresh 10 to bring on would have been nice.

The italian lying flat on his front clinging onto our ruck ball for dear life is an immediate penalty. Been quite a poor ref really.
