As it says on the men's room wall. I'd lean towards the 6N myself - a Grand Slam is always worth reminiscing over and I'm not sure we're going to see any modern rugby for the next 5 weeks.Mellsblue wrote:I’m easy.

I went to that game, and saw the Saffers as they got off their team bus.....they looked very callow and very scared. Clearly massively pumped up in the changing room to compensate, and the result was an absolutely disgraceful display- think it was the 1st game I took my daughter too, and it should have had an 18 certificate!

6N for me, thanks. Just hope all this sh*t is over well before we get to Ireland Vs England. Wrt Eng vs SA; watched it in a bar in Valbonne so no commentary. Something of an improvement IIRC tho its a long time ago. Thanks to Sky for the later gruesome analysis.

I've seen that "5 seconds of madness video" a few times (my dinky little youtube channel that is literally just used for putting up videos to share on here is the number 2 result for England vs South Africa 2002 because of that), but rewatching the game in full again was an eye-opener - there were so many more incidents that weren't covered. Knees, flying elbows, Fleck's punch, the consistent high-tackling, the consistent targeting of the 10 with late hits off the ball. If I sat down and did a minute-by-minute, I suspect I'd find about 30-40 card-worthy moments, even by 2002's standards.
Krige claims in his autobiography that he lost his head because of the red card, that it "motivated me to be as dirty as I could for the rest of the game. I knew that we were going to lose, but I made up my mind to take a few people down with me," but that's patently not true. The elbow on Robinson, the two punches to Wilkinson, the flying elbow into a ruck - they all came before the red, as well as numerous incidences from other players. And his other excuse that England were more insufferable than other nations is a) kinda racist and b) not really applicable when launching cheap shots on Robinson and Wilkinson. Sure, I think everyone can understand the allure of twatting Dawson or Healey, but if you can't seriously claim with a straight face that Robinson or Wilkinson had it coming because of their attitude!

Its a shame- I'd rated Krige until all that crap. They don't like losing them saffers, and its a bit rich a saffer calling us insufferable!Puja wrote:I've seen that "5 seconds of madness video" a few times (my dinky little youtube channel that is literally just used for putting up videos to share on here is the number 2 result for England vs South Africa 2002 because of that), but rewatching the game in full again was an eye-opener - there were so many more incidents that weren't covered.
