I used to watch George Ford play for Tigers A team. 16 years old screaming at pretty experienced pros telling them where they needed to be. This was when Big Jules used to trot out for the A team as well.

If you've got the respect of those around you then you can captain the team. Age doesn't always come into it.
Sure but it's one thing giving a promising kid in the A team that role to develop him in what is basically a training game and a complete other in the first team in the premiership.
Ted Hill is a 21 year old regular first team player as opposed to a 16 year old so we aren't comparing apples with apples. Same premise though, if the squad respects you and you talk with authority and sense then why not be captain.

The A team doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. If the 16 year old captain gets the calls wrong nothing is lost.

A club that is fighting relegation making such a young guy as ted hill captain is very unusual and speaks a lot about his personality. That to me is a really big deal and was worth noting.

It's certainly a noteworthy moment for Ted Hill. Scrumhead is right though he has got a run of games to ease into the job before next season. Hill very much looks like an international in the making and you want leaders in a. International backrow so he's just ticking another box.

If Hill is captain because he's the best leader there that's impressive, if Hill is captain just to try and discourage him from moving elsewhere it's an iffier idea

Caught it on the highlights yesterday. Bloody hell, if they ban him for weeks rather than matches, Nanai won't be playing again this season.

It's a shocker of a tackle. The technique is awful he's actually putting himself and May in danger and it could easily have been Nanai knocked out. Could show this to kids as a how not to tackle.

You're not wrong - that is spectacular. I don't even get what he was trying to do. It's like watching someone who's never played before turning out for the 4th XV. Absolute right decision to get him off the pitch.

Yeh. Literally, in the literal sense of the word, nothing right about that technique.

Banned for 3 games. Bit lucky, tbh, but he accepted it and apologised, which is not nothing.

Hmmmm, 3 sounds a little light to me. But he has no previous I suppose.... just appalling technique though, and it wasn’t the first time in that match he led with his shoulder into a player.
