Thanks, I had not seen that. In 16 minutes 'tradition' must have been mentioned by the panel 30 or 40 times. IMO, that is rugby's biggest issue in terms (still) of switching from amateur to professional.
As for Jones, I cannot imagine a bigger hypocrite. How the fu*king hell can he dare to talk about the spectacle of the game like that.
His one plus point, as you mention, is chopping the bench to six.
I'd sack him tomorrow - for the good of ENGLISH rugby. Bollix to who may be better - anyone!

He’s coached many a side to play ‘attractive’ rugby if he thought it would lead to winning. I don’t think you understand his psyche or the realities of professional coaching tbh. ‘For the good of English rugby’ like Lancaster, Johnson, Robinson or latter part of Woodward’s reign?

Yep. On one hand I often don't enjoy watching the way we play and think Jones has a massive ego, but rightly or wrongly he thinks a certain tactical approach is required with a) these particular players b) the laws/regs as they are (which he alludes to in this conversation) in order to win games. He's been pretty good on that front.
I don't imagine the dream vision of rugby he spoke about here is Farrell hoofing the ball up in the air until the opposition die of boredom. It's a shame that many of us were hoping for a test match and ended up watching a glorified scrum training session vs Georgia, but he clearly thinks some sacrifices (over-working the players in 2018) are worth making in the long term.

On a sidenote, I've seen a few clips from this Kiwi rugby show now and Muliaina is so hilariously bad at this whole punditry thing.
