Yeah, but at least Lawrence has had some defending to do, and done a perfectly adequate job at . I thinknhes had 2-3 carries as wellStom wrote:Neither has Lawrence, tbh. No back can possibly get anything out of this game. Youngs was meh, Farrell has been appalling, no one else has had any fucking ball!Which Tyler wrote:Ford on... For Lawrence - who's probably been our best back - possibly, because Watson's not had any work to do, so I guess he's still on 50% by virtue of putting is shirt on the right way round.

At least those who hate the lions won't have to watch many Englishmen go with the team.

I disagree. They're the best players. So long as they don't play kick tennis with Farrell at 10, I see no reason not to select...ohMr Mwenda wrote:At least those who hate the lions won't have to watch many Englishmen go with the team.

What was the game plan? Kick. Hope for penalties. Who knows.

Re: England v Scotland
It's so depressing thinking of what a Ford, Lawrence, Slade midfield could do with some consistent games together - but knowing that Lawrence will never play outside Ford because the only time Ford plays 10 is with Farrell at 12.

Unbelievably, embarrassingly bad.
Full credit to Scotland, but I’d struggle to give any of the England players any better than 5/10.
How can we continue to pick Farrell 10? We look absolutely awful with him in the driving seat.

I'm concerned the Sarries players will be off the pace. I really feel England should be looking to hand out a paving since after the last two results there's a risk of self-belief emerging within this group of Scottish players and that can't lead anywhere good.
They have a decent squad and on their day, they can be very good, but I’m not sure how good they really are?
In recent times, they’ve beaten a poor Welsh team and a French team that would probably have won but for a dumb red card. They also beat Italy, which is almost a given, but only by 17 points.
I’m not dismissing them as a threat. Watson, Russell and Hogg are on song, they can be very dangerous and van der Merwe is a great addition, despite not being in the least bit Scottish.
That said, their midfield is weak and for this 6N, they are missing their first and second choice hookers, which will inevitably affect the quality of their set piece.
I’m definitely not complacent about it, but I would be disappointed if we were to lose.

Well. Not a single positive to take from that.
There may be a silver lining if we choose to change the game plan to be something a bit less predictable .

It was so obvious the ref favoured whoever had the ball. Scotland got a load of penalties, we kept giving them away, then suddenly when we had the ball in hand, Scotland conceded a bunch of penalties.
For Eddie and the team to not notice and tell the team that at half time is inexcusable. Utterly incompetent and a sackable offence in my eyes.
I've been wiling to give him time until now, but that was inexcusable.
Scotland are not a good team. We lost that game through sheer incompetence.

Well, that was dire. Every player looked rusty, especially the Saracens lot, which maybe suggests that game-time might be important. We failed to fire a single shot.
The only advantage is that it might be the defeat we need to make proper changes for the next game. Although, knowing our luck, the lesson that Eddie's probably learned from that is that Lawes needs to play 6 from the start.

I'm just glad we weren't playing Italy, I'm not ready to lose that unbeaten run.
I might have to spend the next 6 days preparing myself

OK, I think I'd give a couple of players a rating, but you can't even start to give Lawrence, Slade or Watson a rating, they had nothing. Farrell got a 10...Scrumhead wrote:Unbelievably, embarrassingly bad.

Scotland weren't even all that good. Considering the amount of pressure they applied, they failed to convert over and over. France would have put 30+ on us today. Shocking display from us.
