Glos Unavailable list:
Atkinson - Shoulder
Clarke - Calf
Evans - Ankle
Gibson - Hip
Kveseladze - International Duty
May - International Duty
Nagle-Taylor - Foot
Rapava-Ruskin - Suspended
Polledri - Knee
Singleton - Hamstring
Simpson - Hand
Woodward - Groin
LRZ - rested
Glad to see Barton start, hoping he can show us what a decent 10 can do playing in position, not that 36 hasn't tried hard, but there really is no comparison.

On paper Wasps should edge this, but I have zero confidence they can get a result out of this. We are deep in the shit and with no apparent way out.

Guess Henry must be rested as he’s not in the unavailable list and he has featured in the last couple of games.
On paper I think they’re relatively even. But there’s no underestimating how Glos manage to throw games away this season. We’ll see how a victory last week has affected them.

The poor lad can't get a game of rugby these days. He's probably feeling pissed off that he was ever called up for squad duty.Peej wrote:On paper Wasps should edge this, but I have zero confidence they can get a result out of this. We are deep in the shit and with no apparent way out.

Controversial red card in the Wasps Glaws game. Throley tackles upright, leading to a head collision. TMO says he thinks it's nothing, but Carley says he's always upright, causes the head on head with no mitigation, and gives the red. For me, it's what the laws are trying to get rid off, the upright smash tackles, and it's these calls that'll help remove it.

Sounds like one given against Bath way back in December. As a one-off it was ridiculous, but they've really been (rightly) clamping down on any and all head contacts this season.Raggs wrote:Controversial red card in the Wasps Glaws game. It's been consistent, and it's up to the players to change their technique.
ETA, seeing it now, it's significantly worse than the one I'm thinking of (or my memory is failing more quickly than I thought)

Wasps going through a ropy old patch, whats occurrig?
Red card - have to shelve my old school bias and see its for the greater good- players do need to be going lower as the tackler. Id hope the off field sanction is minimal, much more an accident than most of these.
Rucks still more concern than the obvious stuff

Our discipline has gone, just like Englands really. When we hold the ball a few phases we look dangerous. But we keep giving the opposition easy outs.
Seeing a lot of Wasps fans wailing and gnashing teeth about cohesion, clueless, blunt etc, but it's not true, much like England, there's good attack there, but we're giving away too many simple penalties to actually do anything in the match.

What a score, and what a run/pass by JTA! (Lovely pass from Umaga to put him through too).

Glos win by a point. Hard to begrudge them that given some of the games that have gone against them.

Re: Wasps V Glos Sat 3:00
Could have gone either way that, and I feared, regardless of being 17 points to the good, that 50 mins with 14 men against a creative Wasps back line would be too much, and at times it nearly was. Happy it’s a second win and good confidence for Glos, could so easily have been Wasps win though. The Thorley red is right, it is mostly accidental, and he’s actually nearly on his knees when they collide, also when you’re trying to time a tackle with a guy whose jumping for a kick you’ve got to be upright to get your timing right. Again, I have a little sympathy for him, but them’s the rules.

It's piss poor from Wasps though. Like the Leicester game, they just cannot impose any will on the game, or even seem to play basic rugby and find space and exploit advantage. There's a big problem somewhere

It is strange, Blsckett seemed to have it sussed a few games ago, good brand of rugby, scoring freely. Not really sure what has changed so rapidly.

Discipline is a big part. Just like England, if we stopped with the silly penalties, we'd be back to winning most games. There's also a few key players still missing, albeit slightly fewer now (which is probably why we looked better than we had).Gloskarlos wrote:It is strange, Blsckett seemed to have it sussed a few games ago, good brand of rugby, scoring freely. Re: Wasps V Glos Sat 3:00
Going back to the cards, I think one issue that exacerbates the situation is the amount of time allowed for review. Regarding the Thorley card, TMO states carry on, rugby incident, but because Thorley cuts himself and there’s more time available the ref decides to take it use the time to review it and take it further. Fekitoa, I suspect has a ban coming too, replays show he has a closed fist to the back of Socino’s neck/head running in from afar, no lengthy replay afforded by the ref as he’s seen it in real time and says it’s just a ‘push’ It clearly isn’t.

Everyone is missing key players though. What we have had exposed is a lack of depth, but also the compete lack of brain power in the majority of our squad, and any sensible plan on competing other than "get Jack to do it"Raggs wrote:Discipline is a big part.
