And the scrum

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well deserved. Great performance digging that out.

I'm glad Hoggs attacking captaincy got the win it deserved today.

Harris was just about my MOTM. Think it's a bit daft moving him to wing but that's for another day.

What the feck?

So we should have won the based on second half dominance. But France should have won if Dublin didn't have a moment. And it was mad for most of the 80.

Benjamin Kayser for pundit of the tournament. He's great.

Agreed. I know I've been crapping on about taking the points, and I think we do a little too much of the attacking lineouts rather than the simple 3 points, but that being said they backed themselves and delivered tonight and fair play to them.

France still come second with the losing bonus point. Dang. I thought the win gave Scotland second place.

Kayser is amazing. Really enjoy listening to him on different podcasts.

It certainly wasn't anything like that SA that used to go into games taped up and looking to lead with the forearm. But simply you just can't try fend anymore. It's just the way it is.

Have to admit watching it I was worried about yellow. Didn't occur to me that it might be red but thems the rules.

For all the frustration, the performances this tournament have been very different. Against Wales (red and behind), Ireland (14 behind) and France (behind after 80), we were in real troubler and stuck in there. We only pulled one win out from those three but we didn't fall away.

We were literally a final min try or penalty against Wales away from winning the tournament.

If Harris gets that penalty against Wales, and Bhatti guards the ruck against Ireland...

But then if DvdM gets called for a double move or Dulin kicks it out..

Yeah it seems crazy to be 4th with how close those losses were.

What a win. Yes there was some French nonsense at the end with Dulin, but nothing compared to what Price was doing. He milked a couple of offside penalties but my god his service was terrible.

A few guys really stood up. Haining really showed up. Gilchrist for the most part ran the lineout so well. Kebble made a good impact. Great to see Wilson get his 50th cap. What a pass from Hastings. Ritchie with a couple of those big turnovers we’ve come to expect from him. VDM guilty of going for the big hit every time but he gets that ball over the line so I’ll take it.

And yes I think Russell hit him in the chest first, but whatever.

Well done boys. It looked pretty wobbly for a while but an amazing turnaround at the end. Great win.

That's how it goes. One missed chance, bad decision or butterfly farting in Bejing can move you from 1st place to 4th. Points Difference is a brutal metric, particularly with Italy in the mix. No way Ireland merited above Scotland this year IMO, but the table says different. Been there.

Get in.

So in the last six months we’ve killed hoodoos in Wales, Twickenham and Paris. We’re tough to beat and have some real Test players, with a couple nudging world class.

Exactly. Wales could say the same Vs France. Ireland against Wales. France against England. Great tournament this year. Some reffing controversy but some great tries and close finishes

By the way, that was a defensive masterclass by Harris. At one point he covered about three players and half the field single-handedly.
