How big were Tuima's shorts? He is a bulky lad.

Glos made hard work of that. Enough opportunities to have put that to bed a lot earlier than they managed.
Spirited effort from Exe but they faded in the 2nd half as turnovers and poor discipline hurt them. Hodge's try was a beaut and he put in some very good all round work.

We lacked composure, tried to force it too often and squandered loads of opportunities.
Still, a win is a win, on to La Rochelle

He looked good from 15 I would probably keep him there. Definitely a work in progress for his overall game though.FKAS wrote:He's got that gliding running style. Does he get on the ball enough at 15 or should he be used off the wing running lines from the shoulders of playmakers instead? I think from the wing he could see more ball in positions where he can slip that first tackle and get away.twitchy wrote:Amazing individual try from hodge.

Almost without doubt coaches will look at that pace, look at that step, and conclude quick, send him to the gym so he gets heavier and less agiletwitchy wrote:He looked good from 15 I would probably keep him there. or.....Puja wrote:Agreed - I'd even say that I think Exeter will win. They've got a very system-driven approach and everyone in that XV is very solidly inculcated into that system. Add that to a Glaws side low on confidence and with many changes and I could definitely see Exeter sneaking this one.Scrumhead wrote:I don’t think it will TBH. Gloucester are lacking confidence and even if that’s a hell of a long way from Exeter’s first choice 23, they’ll still be well-drilled and organised.
Gloucester should definitely win, but I think it’ll be closer than it looks on paper.

He does look fragile in contact so a little bulking (and I mean a couple of kgs not let's try and turn him into Alex Tuilagi) might be good for him. He actually looks like he's filled out a little from earlier in the season already and at his age that's pretty much to be expected.Digby wrote:Almost without doubt coaches will look at that pace, look at that step, and conclude quick, send him to the gym so he gets heavier and less agiletwitchy wrote:He looked good from 15 I would probably keep him there. Hogg will be back for Chiefs next week. I think some games on the wing for Hodge will be good for him to play alongside the odds on favourite for the Lions 15 shirt and see what he brings on match day. Will force him to keep working on kick chase and first up tackle on tackle on the chase which is harder in the current interpretations for a back three player easily over 6ft. Get him plenty of attacking opportunities and after that individual try his confidence will be through the roof so might as well add to it rather than have him wait to see if Hogg gets injured or needs a rest.

Yep exe did way better than I expected. That being said glos could have scored a load more also.
