Post by Which Tyler »

We've had a few A teams playing friendlies since lockdown; this is the first I've noticed to be livestreamed

Wasps game on Sunday was billed as an under 23 game, though I noticed Naholo played for London Irish

There's some very good players on both sides. But seriously keep an eye out for Benson.

Not that it matters, but 22:21 with 3 tries apiece.
Goss, Fox and Wright for Bath
Liseke, Liseke and Stafford for Quins

Thought that was a pretty competitive and enjoyable game. Good to get these matches going to give youngsters and fringe players some game time.

Just looked up Xavier Hastings as I was curious if he was related to Adam at all (he's not). Found this https://www.bathrugby.com/academy-news/ ... -hastings/.

Says he was 18 in 2019 and the player he looked up to when growing up was Richard Hill. Either he really got into rugby young or he spent his youth poring over tape. Richard Hill won't appear on many highlights clips!

Very random comment I know but struck me as funny.

TBF, he does explain why - he went to the same school, where Hill would have been hero worshipped by all and sundry; probably turning up to hand out sports day awards etc.
Besides which, of course, players in the academies probably watch plenty of videos of the best in their position
